Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I have enough life experience now where I realize I would much rather choose to have an uncouth, rough around the edges maverick type person that actually sets out to do what he / she promises as opposed to any friendly demeanored, "socially acceptable" person who smiles and shakes your hand in front of you, who in turn behind your back, completely reneges on what what was put forth in front of you.
I don't view personalities so superficially by what I only see on the surface. The character of the person can go much deeper than that despite what you see on the forefront.
I used to be, but now I'm not as swayed by social perceptions of how people view me anymore btw. Life is too short on the quest for social acceptance because that changes all the time. Walking directly into the wind isn't always a bad thing I'm discovering. ;0)

He has done really well in pulling back environmental regulations.
His Secy of Education is making progress in gutting public schools in favor of private schools.
He has done a good job of offending all of our allies.
He continues to confound and confuse his senior advisers.
With Trump, what you see on the surface is what you have. His "deep character" is that he is a egomaniacal narcissist.

You could also view it in a way that Trump is honest enough in the sense he doesn't purposely hide his character behind a facade of false smiles and friendly gestures that so many politicians are doing these days.
Also it's no secret what party is primarily responsible for devastating the Coal and Steel Industries in the first place. It's going to take awhile for repairs to be made.
I voted that Trump is trying to make America better, but only in his own view. And therein lies the problem: this is not, no matter what he says, an intelligent man. Perhaps not stupid, in the lack of IQ sense, but generally ignorant of a very great deal about the world, about the nuances of anything that doesn't benefit him personally. Therefore, what he thinks will "make America better," is very unlikely to do that. And the people most likely, in the end, to be hurt by it are the people so dedicated to him as their newest god. This is deeply unfortunate, in my view, but I know of no way to help them.
What I saw (as a Canadian, and therefore less immediately concerned) in Helsinki is a man who is deeply entangled in some dark stuff that he desperately doesn't want to come to light, because whatever it is will most likely result in the end of his presidency. This, I think, is also why his tax records remain a deep, dark secret, unlike previous presidents. Clearly, there is stuff to hide, and he is anxious it remains hidden.
Man, he kowtowed to Putin, he's even starting to sound like Putin, and he is, instead of putting America first, as he is obliged to do by his oath of office, he is blatantly blaming America first for the relationship with Russia, which I think we should not forget killed Sergei Magnitsky (Putin is obsessed with the Magnitsky Act), annexed Crimea and shot down a plane over Ukraine, which are the reasons for American sanctions. That Trump would even consider, in his deep ignorance, turning over Bill Browder to Russia for questioning is as terrible an act as I've ever seen from any sitting president.

The model, if you look at that model with Gaddafi, that was a total decimation. We went in there to beat him. Now that model would take place if we don’t make a deal, most likely.
No nation on Earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear weapons and missiles. The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.
