Did Vedas exist before The Bhagavad Gita ?

Yeah, it certainly seems so. The Bhagavad Gita is a very beautiful text, and is much more influential now than much of the Vedic texts, which address various different issues and are from a different context. Some of the Upanishadic stuff aside.

The Ashtavakra Gita appears to be younger still. In the cases of both the Bhagavad Gita and Ashtavakra Gita, this in no way diminishes them - it is the truths within the text that exist beyond time.

Muslim as a proper noun started with Muhammad only:


[27:92] Say, ‘I am commanded only to serve the Lord of this city which He has made sacred, and to Him belong all things; and I am commanded to be of those who submit to God*;
[27:93] ‘And to recite the Qur’an.’ So whoever follows guidance, follows it only for the good of his own soul; and as to him who goes astray, say, ‘I am only a warner.’

BhagawadGita was for a particular moment and a particular person who was confused. The teaching to Arjuna can be applied to many situations for all people in the whole world. It is simply this 'you should not shirk action in the way of righteousness and not be proud just to have performed your duty'.
