Did you have strange beliefs as a child?

I remember when I was a child, I thought that Americans were the only human beings that had feelings.

I also didn't think women defecated.

And I hated the British.

Did you have any weird beliefs as a child?

Yes, I did; I was a creationist as a child, which is a very weird and incorrect belief to hold, not unlike your childhood beliefs..

Do you have a blind spot?

Actually what I've read it that it may cause temporary blindness at the time. But end up causing more severe problems later in life.

Most of which I've had to deal with.

pterygia
cataracts
macular degeneration

I've had two surgerys in one eye and one in the other. They actually had to sew my retina back it place.

I can see ok except straight lines look wavy in one eye. However my brain compensates for that so I don't really notice unless I focus on it.

This was almost 50 years later.

Now I wear UV protection whenever I'm outside.

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
I was seriously into astrology in my youth. I loved the different personalities of the signs, and how each planet had its own sphere of influence. It seemed very structured, and mathematical to me, plus it fit the new age sensibilities of my youth, when I assumed the universe had something special planned for me.

I used to do my charts. Libra Sun, Cancer Moon and Taurus ascendant. . . every aspect of that always seemed to fit me so perfectly. . . I miss thinking astrology was true.

No, seriously why? I have to say that British people really are da bomb. I love'm.
They thought they were better than everyone else. They conquered far more land than Hitler or Napoleon conquered. They started many wars and treated people like crap

I don't hate the British anymore

I used to think, until I was maybe 8 years old? that Jesus was a girl. It just sounded like a girl's name. Religion wasn't very important to my family lol.

I don't remember how old I was when I realized there was something called time that actually passed. I could hardly believe there was a past, a present and a future. How odd.

That's not so unusual as the perception of time is something we gain later in development. Some animals only have a concept of the present. It's just how things are I guess. I have some fleeting memories that, in a weird way, always felt like having no concept of time. It's a bizarre thing to imagine.

was about 7 when i forced my parents out of a department store lift, which fell down the shaft after a cable malfunction, fortunately no deaths, just some injury, and not my family ...

I wanted to ask if like, you mean right before it crashed??

Sure. I was a Christian. :p

Beat me to it! I thought of saying this but I was a little too old, 12 to some time in my teens, to really count as a young child.

Actually I did. Very young child. At the time, I could have sworn two UFOs were following me and during one fly over, my mother ran out and rushed me back into the house.

I fought something invisible on my bed and was forcibly pushed back down.

There was an also an invisible growling creature on the side of the garage when I was a very young child that growled every time I walk near a specific area of the garage. It got to a point my cousin walked me back there on the side and then his ankle started bleeding and I remember telling him, " I told you so".

True stories.

I remember being four and having the belief that everyone hatched from eggs that women kept warm with their bellies. Wow I was wrong!

You really shouldn't give us a pass on the conquering bit. We did some crappy stuff like that, but we didn't have the same timely opportunities to take it quite as international.
