Disney owns the rights to Star Wars now.

I'm excited for the possibility of new Star Wars movies. Here's hoping they live up to their heritage.

I don't think it will be that bad. Lucas Films, THX, and other companies of Lucas and Disney have been affiliated for many years already, and Lucas already screwed it up himself. And I think someone else directing Star Wars can potentially be a great thing for it. And Disney has produced edgier things than Star Wars, so I don't really see them really changing anything to make it more kid appropriate.

I would have liked to have seen the Thrawn trilogy for episodes 7-9. A good director under Disney could have really put that to good work.

But they're going with an original plot instead. And they kind of have to because the actors are older, unless they want to replace them.

I think the geek world would revolt and protest if someone replaced Luke, Leia, and Han.

Great. Now they are all gonna start singing and dancing.

Every 5 minutes.
I doubt it. You might be surprised at some of the movies Disney has been producing as of late, including the new Tron movie, and the Marvel Comic movies, including The Avengers, and even Iron Man 3 and another Thor movie.

So I guess there will be a new opening themesong for star wars:
Who put the glad in gladiator?
A-ni-kin!
Whose daring deeds are great theater? A-ni-kin!
Is he jedi? No one braver
Is he sweet ? Our favorite flavor .. A-ni-kin, A-ni-kin, A-ni-kin....

Bless my soul "Ani" was on a roll
Undefeated Riding high
And the nicest guy not conceited

He was a nothin' A zero, zero Now he's a honcho He's a hero

He hit the heights at breakneck speed
From zero to hero Ani is a hero
Now he's a hero ....Yes indeed!

*Crawl up credits: Star wars: The Revenge of the Sith* :p

The original series (whether you want to count it as 3 movies or 6) should be left alone. The story centered around the rise and fall of Anakin and his son's redemption. There's plenty of other stuff to pull from the graphic novels and books.

The Dark Atmosphere and action in the first tree movies were just Epic after those newer ones i quit liking Star-Wars and went on a Star-Trek rampage.
