Taking my family on a much needed vacation to DW! You can all rest easy for a week. ;)
Enjoy!
I first went to DW before it really existed, because I have relatives in Florida. The first time I was there, it was a little Welcoming Center, one building about the size of a small house. But I have been back a couple of times since and it was really fun!

Have fun!

I hope to get back to Disney World sometime in the next couple of years – I like Epcot Center, and of course Disney Magic Kingdom, been there 3 times.

However, since I was born and raised in California, I have mostly been to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. – I cannot even count how many times, 20? More? Probably more times. Because I have been going there since a little kid. I think when I first started going, there were still individual tickets for each ride.

So when I first visited the Magic Kingdom in Florida, I liked how so many “traditions” were maintained.

In Anaheim, I had one of those “paving stones” put in with my daughter’s name and special metal “medallion” in the paving stone. These are located in the square between Disneyland and California Adventure.

But I cannot remember if Disney World has that available. If so, just something to think about. No guarantee the paving stone will be there 100 years from now if they renovate things or move things around – but in Anaheim the odds are pretty good the paving stone will be there 100, maybe 200 years from now (if the Los Angeles Great Earthquake doesn’t destroy Disneyland, that is)…

I do recall, however, being in Disney World and areas were totally flooded after heavy rains. Standing in line in water was a problem.

But standing in line, even with fast pass, is a problem for me now that I am 60 years old. Some of the popular rides can be killers standing in line sometimes for 2 hours. Today I take it a bit more easy, though when in Anaheim I always go on the Indiana Jones “Temple of the Forbidden Eye” Adventure Ride multiple times. As I recall, Orlando doesn’t have that ride. But it does have the Pirates of the Caribbean which is also fun.

Have a wonderful time and bring plenty of money to buy drinks and food!

Got a package deal: resort, airfare, deluxe dining plan, park tickets, fast passes, character meal, etc. Not a bad way to drop $6k+ for a family vacation!
