Disturbing news in Canada - "Whites Only" signs posted

The sign's language is pretty over the top.
I'll wager it's a Poe.

I wish I was that optimistic. But, then again, when I was 3 or 4 years old I colored an ice cream man brown and my mom didn't like that. She said it looked like he had icecream all over his face and she tried to go over it with a crayon. I also got this Japanese style kite from school, got home with it, mom took it and out it up and that was the last I saw of it.
My money is some mom saw her kid playing with someone who's skin is some shade and darkness of brown, saw her kid having fun, amd then came word or pronunciation from little Erika or Eric that isn't normal for whites and that was the end of it.
It was the type of mom who writes a crappy and hateful letter about an autistic kid in the neighborhood.

Who cares. Political extremists post posters and stickers all the time here. If you find one you don't like, rip it down, tear it up, etc. It's nothing to make a big deal out of. They want you to. They want you to think there's more of them than there really is.

Any evidence of anyone trying to enforce the whites-only policy?
I'm wagering 5 frubals (a "fiver") that it's Poe.
BTW, it's in really bad taste.
I don't think that I ever suggested anything like "trying to enforce." To me, that's not really the issue. It is a fact that the Tri-cities area is very diverse, and other regions of the Greater Vancouver Area are likewise, with the majority in some of the more populous areas being 40% and up to 60%+ being immigrants -- the largest proportion of which are from Asia.

That is why I personally don't see this as a "Poe" (that's a new one on me, by the way), but agree it's in very bad taste.

So what leads you to think it's a "Poe," as you put it? I've personally known many people quite capable of saying the most hateful things imaginable -- when they think nobody will be able to trace it back to them.

I can see the appeal to some wags in our ultra
sensitive easily triggered society the temptation
to taunt people with such gags. The sign strikes
me as mocking racist snowflakes. And a false
flag is another possibility.
Lol Poe’s law in full swing

I didn't think you suggested it either.
But an attempt to enforce the restriction
would be evidence that it's not a gag.
Some here believe anything they read
if it triggers righteous indignation.

I don't think your mother's admonition
is evidence worthy of leaping to belief
in this matter.

I don't think Canuckistan is circling the drain,
even if the sign has serious intent behind it.

I gave other examples.
IOW there is racism, therefore this sign is real, & not a gag.
That's a pretty lame justification for belief.
I find the sign to be carefully crafted, going overboard with
mocking detail....too much so to be someone's serious attempt
to ban non-whites. Your mileage might vary.
It could be cromulent....or not. My money is on the latter.

I gave an example not even related to race. I just assume people really are that crappy, because they often are.

There is no there, there. Literally. No reason for the signs to have been made in earnest. So I think they’re fakes.

Trying to justify leaping to outrage
without thinking first, eh.
Typical poorly trained bowser.
Refusing to consider that a spade really is a spade given no information to the contrary. And resorting to an insult when challenged. Typical human being.

Hmmm... This does feel like it could teeter the line of Poe's law, but this feels similar to some of the language I've seen from groups like Patriot Front. Hard to tell if it's a joke! As far as being over the top goes, actual white nationalist and Nazi groups aren't known for their subtlety, and the post in question does seem rather plain in comparison

Signs like these are made in earnest all the time, unfortunately. Some folks are just hateful. Then again some people think it's funny to start the rumor that the "ok" sign means white power as a gag. The funny thing about that one though was that white nationalist groups actually started to adopt that sign unironically to mean white power. Art imitating life imitating art, or some such

If you'd read more carefully, you'd discover that
I dint dismiss that possibility that you leapt to
with such certain fervor....like a dog with a bone.

I reserve the right to insult sanctimonious fools.

Notice the friendly verbose language in the Canuckistanian
sign. But how all the ones you offered as real, are hostile
& terse.
It's quite a power that someone can hold over a populace.
Post a single sign, sit back, & watch the paroxysms & fireworks.
Veni, sedi, vidi.

Some good points, though if you've ever followed these white national groups it's interesting how their message evolves. Going back to patriot front for example, their website used to be "bloodandsoil.org" but after turning off their prospective audience due to the obvious nod to Nazi Germany, they changed their website to "patriotfront.us." Where the messaging on their posters used to be up front with their white nationalist agenda, they now have softened it with more vague language that attempts to appeal to more mainstream conservatives.

That said, the sign in question could absolutely be a bad joke. Hard to tell for me, though, cause that kind of sense of humor never really appealed to me

Humor is a highly personal thing.
I can imagine the sign maker chortling with glee
while composing it, & then watching it do its work.
