Do Pictures of Nude People Lead to Immoral Behavior?

I suppose i could be more.
Is that a Freudian slip, or a typo?

Why don't you experiment for us. How old are you 13? Get real.
I'm 51, thanks for asking, though. It isn't often that I get carded at a bar, much less in a discussion about masturbation.

Since you asked me about my age, I'll return the favor - how many years has it taken you to get this uptight about a simple bodily function?

Depends Upon My Mood..
How do you really know? We all agreed that masturbation was a relatively private act. One could do it 5 or 6 times a day and no other human being would ever know.

Because Im his mother and Im not stupid..and we have discussed this(Im talking about my 18 year old now)..and IN fact I know that from about 13 to 15 he was really going after it..I mean how many times a day do you need to take a 5 minute nap man??..But at his age I considered that NORMAL.His hormones were in "raging"...Then he "calmed down" .And he is a virgin still today..He doesnt run aroudn trying to get in girls pants. He doesnt view porn..Im sure he still "pracitces" MB on occasion..But he is not addicted or obsesed with sex or masturbation..

My 25 year old..I know for a fact he is not obsessed with sex becasue again.Im his mother ..we talk about things.and HE COMPLAINS that all his grilfriend thinks about is sex and he has to beat her off with a stick..they do have sex..but he is not a maniac..

the bottom line is ORGASM is good of you..

Yes it is! And there is a means to achieve this. It's called sexual intercourse. Making money is good too but there are different ways to do it. Some are good, some are bad. I think it is obvious that masturbation is unnecessary by the amount of people in the world who don't do it. If you don't at you'll die. If you don't get rid of bodily waste, you'll die. If you don't sleep,... I guess you'll eventually fall asleep. These things are all necessary. Masturbation is for self pleasure. No one masturbates for those other reasons you mentioned (which, once again, can all be achieved through intercourse if it was really a concern).

Your body has a natural way of getting rid of semen if you are not married. Ever hear of wet dreams? It's ridiculous to think your prostate will explode if you don't masturbate everyday. Masturbation, like many other things can become an addiction. It's a "process" addiction as opposed to a "substance" addiction like crack. In a process addiction, the euphoric feeling, or high, comes from chemicals released into the brain, rather than from an external source. As the mind becomes accustomed to the release of these chemicals, it searches out for continued sources of that high. So, while there are some health benefits to normal orgasm (through intercourse), compulsive masturbating is unhealthy in addition to being immoral.

A high isn't unhealthy, it's how the high is achieved that can be potentially dangerous, such as cutting off oxygen from the brain through the inhalation of smoke, either from a cigarette, bonfire, incense, etc. (as a suggestion for those who light incense, such as myself, NEVER light incense without opening a window.)

I don't see any difference between orgasm through intercourse and orgasm through masturbation.

And wet dreams SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!. Besides, they're unreliable. Wet dreams are irregular, and sometimes won't come at all.

I'm 25 and I'm not uptight about it at all. I have masturbated before, however, as I try to gain a better understanding of the world and life, I realize that it is a vise. I'm just shocked that in a forum like this so many people think it's okay. I've smoked weed too but I'm not gonna defend the action. Maybe everyone here is perfect or maybe everyone here is far from perfect and they just don't see their shortcomings as shortcomings.

I'm not spent right now, but I'd still give you a high five.

Boo-yah! Here's two! :highfive: :highfive:

Talk about an open minded attitude! Can I get you to speak to my wife?

Well, I've mentioned it before - Steve and I have a marriage in that we are embarrassingly honest with each other about our sexuality and our preferences. And, we know for a fact that we're attracted to other people outside of the marriage - no matter how darn good I look or how darn good he treats me.

So, for him to masturbate to another image that bears no resemblence to me, so what? It's an image. It's a fantasy. And it's all in the mind, which is the most powerful aphrodisiac and I know it's place. Our attractions and/or turn-ons don't need to make us question our love and commitment to each other.

That's just us, though. :)

That's got to be painful.

Why does that shock you? People on RF tend to be more open and honest than any other group I've been around.

I've smoked weed too
Whereas, I have not.

Or maybe - just MAYBE - they don't share your puritanical view that masturbation is a shortcoming (no pun intended).

Wow. You make me feel like my mother and I have a terrible relationship:sad4: A couple things though. Were you really aware of your sons' whereabouts 24/7? Secondly if your son has to beat his gf off with a stick I have news for you: that is a sign of a masturbation addict. Not saying he is but that is a sign. Guys who are so "caught up in themselves" that they have no need or desire for a woman. In those cases the man gives himself all the pleasure while denying the woman. The act is selfish by nature.

And coupling with a prostitute is considered (by many) to be immoral.

What's a moral man to do?

I don't consider coupling with a prostitute immoral at all. However, it is dangerous. Let's not forget, as long as prostitution is illegal, there's no way for anyone to know whether or not they have an STD, such as HIV. It's for this reason I'd never sleep with a prostitute. And I'm monogamous and am spoken for. If someone else wants to sleep with prostitutes, that's fine.

Reminds me of the old saying: "It doesn't matter where you get your appetite, as long as you eat at home".

The act is selfish by nature.

And there's nothing wrong with a little selfishness. Total selflessness is unhealthy for everybody, as it makes you unhealthy which doesn't help anybody else.

Of course masturbation is selfish. So is playing video games alone, reading a book, watching a movie, and doing other things that are done for ones own selfish reasons.

Too much of anything is bad, but I don't believe a little of anything is bad.

I see that you are agnostic so I understand that. But for anyone who claims to follow a particular religion (in particular Christianity and Islam because I used specific examples from their scriptures to support my position earlier in the thread), they must see it is immoral. Now that doesn't mean they won't engage in it because we all sin in one way or another. But I don't see how you can defend it, especially if you claim 1 of those 2 faiths.

I'll leave it to the theists on the board as to whether or not they choose to debate the point of their religious beliefs speak to the morality or immorality of masturbation.

That said, speaking as an agnostic, your point is taken. I have absolutely no qualms about it - and am completely unfettered by any conept of "sin" as such.
