We start from the beggining when Adam was giving the power to name the animals G-d gave him freewill to choose
Genesis 2:20.
20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him.
Here G-d gives Adam gives him ability to think for himself and he decide the animals name.
There is difference from the freewill Hebrew people back in the days of Noah and Moses when the law was directed to G-d's people they had freewill to decide. Their decision is under the law because they did not know other religions or ways they were narrowminded but still the decision from good and evil existed. Did the errors of their fathers before them I mean the fall of Adam stopped them making decisions in their life. Israel did what they want based still of need of surviving. Killing, eating, proceating needs of humanity but no matter what the error of Adam did not take freewill from them.
Before Adam, there was only natural instinct in paradise; plants and animals. If you go into nature, today, the animals and the trees do not have free will or choice, since they are under natural laws, that work from the inside, out. We do not have to teach a tree to be a tree, since this drive comes from the inside; it's genetics. We do not have to teach the beaver to build dams, since this also comes from the inside; DNA to inner self=natural instinct. This was God's creation, before Adam, were each aspect of nature naturally knows its part within creation from the inside.
Adam was made higher than the animals. He was somewhere between the angels and the animals, with instinct as well as some will and choice. Before Eve, Adam uses his will and choice to name the various animals. He can see distinctions in each species; their unique form and function, like a scientist. He uses this external data input, to help him decide what to call each species; outside data ---> inside data processing = name appears.
Inside to outside is instinct, while outside to inside is more based on external learning, from which we can drawn conclusions, such as the most suitable names for all the animals. This was not instinctive, but was a product of choice and will, or else each animal would have said their own names from inside. The cat would be called meow based on its naturally spoken sound. This symbolism has to do with better observational skills, self reflection, and the development of spoken language. Paradise was still in affect as natural humans with will and choice, became a force that could advance natural instincts.
Naming the animals is symbolically important since naming creates a more intimate connection to nature. If you went into a crowd and nobody knows your name, things will stay shallow. But if someone was to say your name, an intimacy and depth appears. Our name gives us a distinction in terms of our social existence. Naming the animals brought Adam closer to nature and natural observations. This show human instinct was advancing with the help of the ego; secondary center that allows will and choice.
Fast forward to Adam and Eve and the two trees in the garden of Eden; Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life was about natural instinct that coordinates each and all of life; inside to outside from our DNA to the inner self. The Tree of Knowledge is more like learned knowledge from the outside; school. It is more connected to the ego secondary center than the inner self and DNA.
Adam and Eve were given a choice of the two trees, with God and Satan each selling these choices to Adam and Eve differently; outside to their inside. The will and choice to finally pick the tree of knowledge of good and evil, meant that education would now come more from the outside; law and rules for the ego. Had Adam and Eve picked the Tree of Life, they would have remained in natural instinct, but with ego choices from outside, allowing their natural instinct to evolve, at a much faster pace than just natural selection; conscious observation and objective analysis improving instinct via external data.
For example, we all instinctively need to eat. One way to improve the efficiency of this instinct, would be to be proactive in terms of the food supply, so we have food with less expenditure of energy. Knowledge of good and evil, would cause one to leave the realm of practical thinking, and enter the realm of something closer to subjective thinking what is right and wrong. Innovation would be taboo like it still is. This is not rational but subjective.
For example, the two major political parties in the USA, each have their own rules for right and wrong behavior. Free speech is good in terms of the Right, but can become evil in terms of the Left, to where it requires censorship. How are two opposing knowledges of good and evil even possible? How can you ever know what is absolute right and wrong, since these two opposing systems both claim to be right?
Subjectivity was added to objective observation, when Adam and Eve choose the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This subjective division; take sides, would lead to war and death, since both sides will feel they are correct, and both will defend their subjectivity, calling it the only truth. God saw this subjective option and tried to warn Adam and Eve, but the subjective sales pitch by Satan, tricked Eve, so they decided to buy the swamp land with the good view.
Subjectivity adds a whole new dimension to will and choice, allowing will and choice to depart from natural instinct and natural truth; laws of nature, which are based on the laws of physics and chemistry and eons of selection and survival. Genesis describes the change within natural humans into unnatural humans, based on subjective choices of good and evil and forced conformity. The association of Satan, with this tree, shows something was not right with this path, even if it was sold with pleasant words, like a used car only driven on Sundays by an old lady; Satan's subjective enhancement. The tree of life is sealed so these bad choices do not mess up a natural backup copy of natural instincts.
Had Adam and Eve, willfully chosen the tree of life, humans would be more like what is expected in the future. Natural instinct; based on our human DNA and the inner self, would drive us from the inside to outside. The ego would collect data and help objectively advance our instinct; adding to the efficiency of instinct through will and choices. With nature and the inner set leading, these choices would to be integrated at a deep level; evolving based on spatial objectivity, instead of willful subjectivity.
