Do we want witchcraft?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
If black magic were demonstrated to be real and effective - not gonna lie - I'd be grabbing a wand and cowl.
I'd go necromancer and conjure a couple of Hell hounds for my driveway.

No more leaving religious pamphlets stuck into the door. *grin*

I read in Galatians 5:19-24.That one of the sins of our sinful nature could be witchcraft.Do you see what I am talking about?:)

Religion is a form of witchcraft, incantations (prayer) to gain favour of a spirit (god) is a common theme in both witchcraft and religion.

Difference is religion outlawed witchcraft (so religion cannot be called witchraft) because witchcraft is in direct competition with religion.

And who wants competition that is more fun.

True power and energy and guidance and light is from God and is channeled through those who are his holy spirit. Spiritual power not emanating from God is limited, and it's weak seeking the weak and leads to blindness to God's holy light. It's benefits are temporary for temporary pleasures, while God's sustenance is everlasting. Dark magic makes God's word appear low in the soul so to annul it you make God's word high.

The same punishment of those who follow unjust leaders outwardly is the same to those who follow devils inwardly, the destination is hell. Magic is about spiritual power, if you seek energy from corrupted sources, you will go to hell.

That said, Ahlulbayt (a) taught all sorts of words to say to annul dark magic and fight it off.

The proper means to God is his rope, Quran and Ahlulbayt (A), why people choose spiritual of their own and their own chosen sources of guidance from Jinn and humans, is beyond me, when God has chosen for us guidance and appointed us leaders and means towards him.

People say the same for drugs.
Interesting that you should say this. The word translated as witchcraft is pharmakeia (as in pharmacy-drugs.)
G5331 - pharmakeia - Strong's Greek Lexicon (kjv)

Outline of Biblical Usage [?]
  1. the use or the administering of drugs

  2. poisoning

  3. sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it

  4. metaph. the deceptions and seductions of idolatry

Now, I can see pharmakeia applied in the sense of poisoning minds (greed, hatred, and delusion being the three poisons of Buddhism.)
This song tells of a classic example of this:

I am sure that the vast majority of people "into" witchcraft...aren't really going out in the woods and doing ceremonies or anything.

I was hitchhiking across the country and met a guy. He told me that there was a Satanic Biker Gang in Florida. Their initiation rite was to murder a random baby and throw it in a dumpster.

There definitely is some weird correlation between Satanic groups and crime, violent crime and murder. I would assume the FBI has some statistics about that somewhere.

So, you know, among alternative people there are regular normal folks...and there are dangerous extremists.

I think most people into witchcraft just like herbal medicine and maybe cast a spell or two...and that is about it.

I don't know that all that is such a big deal.

But I do know that there are some super extreme lunatics out there who do some seriously crazy stuff.

So, if they hand you the knife when you are poised above the tied up virgin, might be a good time to excuse yourself to attend to that Zoom call you might miss...

On my spiritual journey, for the first two years, I was into some Mexican sorcery path.

After that, I moved into Hinduism...meditation, Hatha Yoga, etc...

Works for me.

Affirmations are not all that different than casting spells. We do engage with affirmations.

Trying to go up, look to the light and all that. Been around plenty of darkness in the world and plenty inside myself also. Never found any happiness or peace there.
