I mean other planets with life on them, or other universes with planets like ours? I believe they must exist somewhere. I find the idea that we're all alone almost frightening.

I'm sure there is some life elsewhere, but I doubt it's much like ours...
Don't you think the idea that there is life like ours out there to be much more frightening than the thought of it not being out there? Humanity is violent, possessive, and greedy... If there are other civilizations like ours out there, and they have the capabilities to come here, there will surely be war so they can steal all of our resources from us, just like humanity does among itself all the time, and we'll be totally screwed.

I'm optimistic that there should be life on other planets. Given the size of what we know is out there, and the larger amount of what we don't, I think the odds are pretty good that we are not alone.

Hard to make an accurate assessment without having more control data. All we know for sure now is that life formed on earth. It could be a 1 in 100 to the hundredth factor chance of happening, in which case earth may be the sole freak mutation of the universe to spawn life.
Or it could be much much more common. The universe could be literally teeming with life for all we know.
My intuition tells me that life is probably fairly common. I hope this question can be answered in my lifetime.

Certainly we could go into a many worlds theory. I said I believed in other universes, even other dimensions.

Tis scary to think the earth is the only planet with life. Yes...I do believe in life other than the planet Earth. I believe we got here by something other than some Cosmic SkyDaddy who makes impossible demands.
