But that's not what superiority is. :)

Me too, I am happy I am not Hillary Clinton, because she and I have totally opposite visions of the world.
That doesn't mean I feel better or superior to her, because we are both human beings. With different visions, and different stories.

Superiority is when you believe you are a priori superior, better quality than others. Like racial superiority.
Which is what existed in Nazi Germany. Aryan race. That's an example of superiority.

You should have quite a few yes answers.
Evidence of that lies in many threads here.

1. Many nonreligious think they are superior to the uneducated, science ignorant religious.
2. Many on the left think they are superior to the crazy uneducated MAGA
3. Many religious think they are superior to nonreligious because they have god and heaven.
4. All you have to do is read some of the threads for those and several other examples.

True to all four affirmations.
It's true. Many people will always feel, deep inside, superior to others.

But I don't. :)
I don't feel superior to anyone. I don't even feel better than atheists because I know there are many atheists who are better persons than me.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I don't feel superior to other people but I do know there are people out there who I'd rather not be. Most people actually. I'd rather be me.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
So...actually these prideful people do not love God. They love themselves: autolatry.
They think they worship God, but the god they created is just a figment of their imagination, because they are actually worshiping themselves.
That's my big concern with certain religions and religious people. Sinners don't become royalty overnight. I desire God to be true, and existent, but I feel like a lot of self professed faithful are making a false authority in their heads.

I've met people that have told me they have special insight of me because of God. They seem to think they can clear the way for their special line to the will of God. I'd be crazy to believe them. That's how I feel about it. Even their Bible says the first shall be last, and the last shall be first.

Honestly I don't like so much of Christianity, but there are points of light some people seem to get from it as well. So what I have tried to do is seek for God independently of any book or religion. Since arrogance is such an evil, I would hate to fool myself into something where I thought I had so much authority directly from God, that is to me false pride.

The word superior comes from Latin and means higher, upper.
It's used in modern languages like English to indicate something which is better, or of higher status, higher quality.

Honestly I have never considered myself superior to others. Or better than others. I consider myself unique, in the sense of different.
But neither better nor worse. Neither superior nor inferior.
Because we have all different attitudes and capabilities. And that's the beauty of diversity.

Au contraire...I have remarked that so many people don't mind even admitting that they consider themselves better or superior to others.
Even if it deals with people who have clearly an oversized opinion of themselves.
And this creates so much antagonism, unfair treatment, dissing and bullying at the workplace.

So I want to study the psychological phenomenon according to which someone considers themselves superior or better than others. :)

Depends who the "others" are.

I applaud that.
Do not look for God in established religions. You will never find Him. :)

Is this a trick question? I have personal standards or values that I cater to. It's a personality thing and based on many variables. Am I better than an unfaithful spouse? Yes. Am I better than a liar who lies to another's harm for a fix? Yes. Am I a better person for this? Yes. Do I feel superior? No. I'm often enough the one who suffers and less liked because of things like these, so that's why I asked if this was a trick question. Other's take an opposing stance to my own and would suggest they are better. "Been there done that got too pissed to care and at least I'm doing something about it", typically goes along with it. I'm not too far behind to be honest. I've been told time and time again that I'm too nice. So, I may not always be better or think I'm better, but I am better than at the moment and pretty well sick of it too.

I should say no, but I would be lying. I'm just pissed for wasting my time ...

Apologies for the rant.
