Isn't the US mainly automatic? The UK is mainly manual I think. The way fuel and the cost of living is going I think opting for two wheels will be become more popular.Do you drive a manual or an automatic? In Europe everyone learns to drive manual. Automatic is easier and getting more popular, but the majority of our cars are manual.

Manual remains the default in most of Europe. One reason is the cars are smaller, with smaller (less fuel-hungry) engines. These have less torque and rely more on high revs to generate high power. The "lag" of a torque converter is very noticeable with such cars - and you lose fuel efficiency and/or performance. Automatics are less fun to drive, because engine response is more sluggish. My wife used to say that in France an automatic was considered to be "for little old ladies".Do you drive a manual or an automatic? European cars with paddle shifters look so smooth to drive.
I drive both. I own more than one car. Some are automatic and some have a manual transmission.
It would, especially as it would be on your left!I haven't tried one of those yet, but since I always drive with my right hand on the shift knob, it would probably take me a while to get used to.
I had an automatic once. You can't start it by pushing the car and use the momentum to start. Towing it will destroy the transmission. When something goes wrong, it goes wrong badly and costly. I'm cured of automatics.Do you drive a manual or an automatic? And either way, did you specifically opt for the type of gearbox, or was it simply unimportant to you?
Much like attire it depends on the occasion.Which do you prefer, if either?
My partner's left leg gives her grief sometimes so I can see we'll be going over to an auto. Possibly a hybrid too while we're at it.I can drive either, but my left knee being my bad knee has me strongly favoring automatics.
I am carless at the moment.
