We've had difficulties with valet parking of my wife's car because nobody knows how to drive a stick shift.

Or for people that don't like driving :)
Haha, yes. That reminds me: back in the 1980s we used to describe Volvos as the car for the man who hates cars: plug-ugly things with huge rubber fenders, that looked like a hoover and sounded like a tractor:-

I always wanted one of those! I liked the fact they looked like a tank!

My last car was a more modern Volvo station wagon. It was surprisingly a much better car than that. Except if I ever meet the man that designed the lighting system he will be probably get a quick kick to the groin and he will probably know why without even asking.

I have driven both automatics and manuals. The first car that I drove was a Rambler with a three in the tree. Each has their advantages. My old delivery truck that I had for my business was a Ford F300. About 1961 was the year. A F300 is the same as an F350, but with a straight six instead of a V8. It had a four on the floor, but it was really had three standard gears and one very low gear for taking off going up hill with a load. I almost never used it. Maybe a few times in Seattle and that was using the parking gear since I only have two legs. Otherwise you need one for the gas, one for the brake and one for the clutch. An automatic would have been very nice in those conditions.

Apparently I've reached the limit of my free articles, although I don't recall ever consulting the Seattle Times
Rats, that was me. I was hoping that when I copied and pasted that would not appear. Hmmm, I wonder if it is going by my IP address or the computer that I am using.

Do you drive a manual or an automatic? And either way, did you specifically opt for the type of gearbox, or was it simply unimportant to you?
Automatic. Got used to it in the USA and find stick shift difficult to manage in crazy Indian traffic.

I wanted a stick but the perfect car for my situation is only available with a CVT (Honda Accord).
