Have you ever been lucky to win something?
I've no interest in it. My wife likes it though. She get excited and tries to drag me to the casino. Boring... almost as boring as shopping.
She wins a few thousand once in a while. The casio provides a win/loss statement for tax purposes. People forget their loses and remember their wins. They take a little at a time but give you a large win once in a while. I showed my wife over the course of a year she ends up with 10 to 20 percent less over the course of a year. Net loss always for the consistent gambler. The percentage of the payout is pretty accurate as to how much of your money you'll lose.
However I have seen some folks real lucky with cards. Don't know if it's luck or experience.
I used to do the same when I was living in Chicago, but over time the group got too aggressive, and the stakes got too high, so I stopped. I was there for fun, but it wasn't fun for some of them unless there was serious risk. And that's when it became not fun, to me.I used to play poker with friends quite often but not for a long time. Sometimes I won a bit and sometimes I lost. But the point was to have some, relatively cheap, fun.
