Do you have an art?

Do you paint, draw, sculpt, weave? Do you write novels, short stories, poetry? Do you sing or play music? Do you act in plays or movies? What's your favorite art?

Although I myself don't paint in oils, oil paintings have surely got to be one of my top two or three favorite arts. What are your favorite arts?

Some say I have an art; that art being video games. I don't do much else... ;)

Favorite arts... hmm, music, novels, and then movies.

meogi-- what's your favorite computer game right now?

I like to draw cartoons. I drew them for my high school newspaper and now I'm going to draw for a student-run dormitory newspaper we're starting here. Does that count?

I am not artistic but I like paintings from the Impressionistic period back to the masters. Love symphonic music but not opera. Like Broadway on Broadway. Concerts and Shakespear in Central Park - all free. Appreciate gourmet French food and wines including Armanac and local cheeses. I'm a good patron of all these arts.

I am crafty having done string art in original design, macrame, dream catchers in original design, and lapidary.

It's hard to distinquish between what's craft and art -- especially when you get into doing things in original design.

Also, Pah, you remind me that I forgot to list "cooking" as an art. How could I possibly forget to list one of the arts most near and dear to my heart -- good cusine is sublime!

I play music, mostly piano, but I can also play the trumpet and French horn.

My favorite arts are live theater, the symphony, and other local concerts.

Right now? Well, considering I can only play ones that are out in Japan atm... Naruto Narutimett 2 is the PS2 game we're playing right now... as for computer, my computer that I built for here, can't really handle new games (I'll have quite a bit of catching up to do when I get back) so I'm not really playing any games computer wise. I did go to the tokyo gameshow, pics are up at http://www.jamesinjapan.com/images/tgs if you want to see ;)

I make small furniture pieces and other small carpentry. The only writing I do is at places like these. My talents also lie in the arena of supporting the performing arts; lighting & sound support, sets, etc.

Feathers in Hair

World's Tallest Hobbit
I don't know if it's an art, but I'll be going and pursuing it today... Historic reinactment! I'll be going to a middle-ages type retreat, for the Society for Creative Anachronisms, and that'll be helping me build up a character... I'm not sure if I wanna go with a jester, or a viking seeress... (Those seem to be my favorite hypothetical 'persona's at the moment.)

I don't think I could live without writing. Drawing is something I've allowed myself to become discouraged on pursuing, but I'll hopefully build my talent back over time. I sing, rather admittedly horribly, but I enjoy it, and have a knack for remembering lyrics/ verses I've only heard once. When I can, I love playing tribal drums. I don't know whether or not I'm 'good' at it, but- and this is the important point- I can do it *really* loudly.

I love making things out of clay, though I've got a lot to learn about it. :) It's one of the most soothing things I've done.

I write stories and the occasional fanfic. I've been writing since I was 12, a good 8 or 9 years. I can sing alright, but I'd love to learn the drums. I can draw pretty well, though I'm better at using model images to then embellish them how I want. Free-drawing isn't a skill I'm good at at the moment. (I hope you get what I mean by that -- drawing something from scratch, no outline, etc) i draw pretty well considering, though.

bright blessings,
Argent

Yes!!!

I enjoy charcoal the most, especially black and white. I enjoy blending and working them with my fingers. I enjoy the dust and I appreciate the textures you can accomplish through this media.

These portraits are all 18"-24" rendered in black and white charcoal. Frubals for the person or persons who can name all of them correctly.

I paint, mostly with watercolours and acrylics.
I make hemp jewelry
I work with henna and like to do mehndi, although I have never done it well on another person... more practice may change that. ;)
I like to write, but more of creating stories... I'm not very good at getting my thoughts on paper...
I used to play the flute when I was a kid, but was never very good at it.
and thats about it. :)
The first two things will be products that I will sell in the metaphysical store that I and my husband are planning on having (which is why I am going to school for Business).

Favourite arts?
hmm... I dunno... I guess I like paintings the best.
