Do you know if King David has children with Baal in their names?

Wouldn't think so, David went to war with Eshbaal, and he was a righteous King, and one who "abandoned haughtiness".

@GoodAttention
What was this war with Eshbaal about, and this is where I learned about David's children's names being baal. Example: Samuel, for example, Samu-EL. Oh, and what about Isra-EL -- what happened to Isha? Krishna's God, Brahman? Isha? How did that become transposed to Isra-EL for that Baal? What does Baal mean?

As anyone reading Joshua through Kings in the Bible -- Baal and YHWH are huge rivals for the hearts and minds of the Israelites ... thought to be one in the same at times ... King David having Children with Baal in their name .. which is a big deal if you know any thing about names in the OT .. Samuel for example Samu-EL is not an Accident .. nor is Isra - EL .. one who struggles with the most high God EL ..

@Sargonski What does Baal even mean? What is EL compared to not EL?

I notice that people are gods, and a lot of these gods' names are from actual earth meanings; for example, lord means owner of property, and some people would claim to praise the lord.

It's actually praising the landowner for what reasons? Then later, somehow, this turned into some kind of Christianity claiming praise for the Lord. Is it that Christians claim that God is the landowner of their what? When do they say Praise the Lord? Is Lord Baal at all, because what is baal actually? Is Baal some type of Lord Landowner ever?

Yet @GoodAttention explains that David was at war with Eshbaal; do you, @Sargonski, know anything about this?

Maybe other religions also praise the Lord, so other religions also say this too? But what does that mean to praise the Lord? Lord means owner of land. So praise the person who owns land, wow.

David isn't Christian because Christianity happened way later, and still I wonder how come some people think it's ok to kill Jesus when what did Jesus do? Nothing; all Jesus did was claim to be King. Wow, what's a huge deal about this to cause being killed for? That makes no sense at all. Who cares if Jesus claims this? How come there was no freedom of speech back when?

So what if someone claims they'll be king? Because many people claim this and maybe even try to be king as well.

How is aiming to be King a sin? How is that?

Christianity is the most confusing religion to the extreme.

All a person did was claim to be king, and that caused them to be killed? No freedom of speech how come? Even Krishna was threatened that if he's born a male how come, fearing he'll be king? Who feared this, Kamsa and Jarasandha? Do you see the pattern, all fearing who'll be the King, and so people feared if Jesus will be King, same pattern is this?

How come John never claims to be King and he gets his head chopped off? What did John do, compared to Jesus? Both died for what reasons?

I think this is abuse of what Jesus and John went through. But some think this is ok. How come?

Why didn't David suffer the same fate as John and Jesus?

David claims to be king, and he made it as king. How come, compared to Jesus and John?

How come David was never killed?

How come Jews fear if Jesus will become King? Compared to any fears Jews have if David becomes King, who cares who's king who cares? Do you actually really care?

Plus, who's really king now, who?

Would you ever seek to be King or Queen, and if so, how come?

Many questions .. some of them good "Whats in a name" is a good one :)

The word BAAL can mean many things. It depends on how that word is used ... for example My BAAL can mean my Lord or My Husband when on the lips of a wife to her husband. or "My Lord" denoting high honor.

When used as a name "Lord BAAL" BAAL Hadad - this is the name a Canaanite High God .. Son of the Most High God EL. The word EL means God .. the plural of which is Elohim - Gods .. not necessarily meaning the God EL but generic God as the name of this God was incorporated into later linguistic usage. Let us not forget that Canaanite is the root language .. Hebrew a later branch of Canaanite.

EL is the name of the Most High God - God of the Heavens .. this God has 70 sons .. referred to in the Bible as Bnei Elohim "Sons of God" or "Sons of the Gods". In Psalm 82 we have.. El used as a proper name for the most high God
-----------------
1) YHWH stands in the assembly of EL --- (so this is an assembly of the Gods in Heaven) ---" In the midst of the Gods he renders Judgement. "
---------------
The word used for Gods in the above passage is Elohim -- Gods. later on in verse 6 we have the Bnei Elohim - Sons of EL and/or Sons of the Gods .. but Sons of EL singular makes a whole lot of sense if one knows what is happening in the Story.
-----
6 I say,[m] ‘You are gods; all of you are sons of the Most High.’[n]
7 Yet you will die like mortals;
-------
So this is the story - ancient Canaanite Religious Belief -- and the religious belief of everyone else in the neighborhood come to think of it .. from Britain to Greece .. From India to Egypt .. and beyond.

Everyone knows the Story of how one of the "Sons of EL" goes off and defeats the Chaos Dragon - Mot - Liviathan - the Great Sea Serpent .. and for this great deed usurps the position of EL "The Father - Hallowed be thy name" .. as Chief God on Earth .. El remains High God in the Heavens --- El Elyon (God Most High) Deuteronomy 32:8 then allots a portion of the earth to each of the Bnei Elohim .. YHWH's portion is Jacob-Israel .. (Whats in a name) ? .. what is the EL doing on the back of Isra-EL ? and these Sons of God .. of which YHWH is one .. battle it out for high God on Earth.

Psalm 82 is a song sung in the temple of YHWH .. where YHWH wins this battle. .. becomes High God over the Earth.

Now back in the days of walled cities .. each having a Patron God .. most often one of the Bnei Elohim .. who they would drag off to war every time there was a battle with another City State .. and a bigger nation would sometimes have a national God and take that off to war .. The Kings would name themselves after the Patron God .. or National God take the name of the Assyrian King Enlil-nadin-shumi - for example.

Enlil is the ancient Sumerian High God .. sometimes called Illil .. and over in the land of Canaan shortened to EL -- EL is the God of Abraham .. Enlil of Ur :) .. and thus "Isra-EL" = one who struggles with God . but that God being EL in this case .. as it is the Most High God whom the Patriarchs struggle .. "EL" is the God of the Nomatic Tribal Canaanite ancestors who venture towards Egypt .. eventually taking over for a time. The Cult of YHWH starts with Moses.

Now pay attention .. Melchi-Zedek is the Canaanite Priest-King of Jerusalem . "Priest of the Most High God" who worships God with Bread and Wine with Abraham. Zedek is the Patron God of Jerusalem at the time .. twin god of Righteous and Justice .. who sits at the Right hand of the Father - in the Divine Council . Jerusalem is the city of Peace. giving us the "Prince of Peace" Lord of Justice and Righteous seated at the Right hand of the Father "EL"

Whats in a name :) Adoni-Zedek -- "My lord is Zedek" is a King 800 years later in Jerusalem when David shows up. The priesthood ofd Melchi-Zedek is still going .. David, rather than destroy this Pagan Priesthood .. puts the High Priest Zadok as high priest over the State Religion of the Israelites ... rather than an Aaronite Priest. At the time BAAL and YHWH are synonomous with each other .. two competing Storm Gods .. both Sons of EL one of Davids sons is named after BAAL .. Gideon's name is Jeriubbaal.

David Psalm 110 is a priest forever in the Order of Melchi-Zedek .. this is the Priesthood of EL Zadokite Priesthood. the Priesthood of YHWH is the Aaronite Priesthood.

Now .. let us fastforward to Jesus .. and let us guess which Priesthood Jesus is a member of A) Aaronite Priesthood B) Levitical Priesthood .. C Zadokite Priesthood

Part 2 -- and this makes the God of Jesus who ? A) Lord YHWH B) Lord Jealous C) EL Elyon

Best to ask a Jewish person for their opinion on King David, and why he fought against the sons of Saul.
