There is a legendary figure named Francis of Assisi who supposedly loves all of God's creation. The Catholics believe him to be a real person and the founder of an order of monks. He seems a little bit fantastical to me, but there is probably some substance to the legend of him.
He's not a legend. He is a historical figure who founded the Order of Friars Minor (OFM), commonly known as the Franciscans. Some of the stories about him are legends, but that's a different matter.

People pretend to love and respect God but
when it comes to His works, that He pronounced to be good, well that's another matter.
Hey, no disrespect to pick and choose which to love or hate or wantonly destroy.

It's no less disrespectful and barbaric of non
Christians or.atheists, if maybe a bit less hypocritical.

Oh contraire, those little winged suckers are playing for the other team:

"In the Bible, Beelzebub is another name for the devil and is also translated to "lord of the flies."'
Why Was Satan Called Beelzebub in the Bible?

My actual point was that a lack of respect for
what people nominally claim.to be Gods
creatures is a sad failing of Christians.
Oh. I thought your point was, "I have an opportunity to take a gratuitous swipe at religious people so I have to take it"
