Legal change of name, religious conversion. I liked the one my parents gave me as well though.Interesting. Many have had their given names chosen by their parents. How did you happen to choose your own?

Honestly it seems strange that someone would not like their name. I anticipate that I would have liked my name regardless of what it was. But it serves its purpose and has given me no cause to dislike it.Great to hear, George. But I expect more from you in the time I've know you than to simply reply to the thread title. Why do you like your given name?
I disliked my given name as a child to the point where I made people call me by my middle name.
In adulthood I love my given name. It's not entirely unique, but rare.
I don't expect any reveals (though many of you know mine), but what are your feelings on your given name?
One folk meaning of the name Emilie is rival, so chosen. Not that my opinion matters p00p, because it doesn't. But that's a splendid name imo. I always like Emily (or Emilie in your case). I also like the Tani and Shetani names. They sound pleasant to me. Rival projects aggressiveness to me. Which is the antithesis of your other names, thats interesting. Sorry I'm just getting lost in thought now. No real reason I say this, just thinking aloud I guess.
I dont like it
Then let's go with something you might find more pleasing - Chanah.No. I've always disliked it. I use my middle name often which I barely like any better. My name is far too girly and common for me.

I would have preferred a birth name like Georgie, Anna or Jesse.

That is my if-I-ever-convert name. Cognate with my middle name but better sounding. Then let's go with something you might find more pleasing - Chanah.
