Do You Like Your Given Name?

Curious George

Great to hear, George. But I expect more from you in the time I've know you than to simply reply to the thread title. Why do you like your given name?
Honestly it seems strange that someone would not like their name. I anticipate that I would have liked my name regardless of what it was. But it serves its purpose and has given me no cause to dislike it.

I disliked my given name as a child to the point where I made people call me by my middle name.

In adulthood I love my given name. It's not entirely unique, but rare.

I don't expect any reveals (though many of you know mine), but what are your feelings on your given name?

I dont like it

Not that my opinion matters p00p, because it doesn't. But that's a splendid name imo. I always like Emily (or Emilie in your case). I also like the Tani and Shetani names. They sound pleasant to me. Rival projects aggressiveness to me. Which is the antithesis of your other names, thats interesting. Sorry I'm just getting lost in thought now. No real reason I say this, just thinking aloud I guess.
One folk meaning of the name Emilie is rival, so chosen.

I would have preferred a birth name like Georgie, Anna or Jesse.

No. I've always disliked it. I use my middle name often which I barely like any better. My name is far too girly and common for me.
Then let's go with something you might find more pleasing - Chanah.

It's all a sick freaking joke.

Nice I didn't know that!!

I always like Anna and Jesse. I am fond of what I call old lady names. Like Ruby for instance. If I ever have a biological daughter I would like her first name to be Ruby.

I disliked my given name growing up. It's very unique, I've never met another person with the same name, but have heard of people with that name.

I think my birth name is fine, but i prefer Terese and would like to legally change it to that. No rush though :)

My mother's Sicilian and it's tradition there to name babies after the saint of the day...so....
I'm ok with it....I like it....

I mean ...if my birthday had been on February 14, my name would have been Valentino...
very very very gayish:D:D:p:p

Apparently most male names turn out to be Jewish

My given name was bizarre beyond any reasonability. Today I use a modification of it. My life has been totally bizarre.
