Do you love God?

I do not want this to turn in to a disscussion whether are not God exist.
This is for people who believe God exist.
I would like to hear from the ones who know God has touched their life.

Through the Looking Glass
To "love" is to dissolve the walls of identity between "I" and "other" and feel a sense of common being. So it would depend on what one is calling "God."

Friend Credance,
love is a quality which each one has like a dflower has essence which it spreads around.
love is not a particular thing which can be distributed amongst few.
lovce that which is distributable is not PURE love it may appear so but it is born out of desire. It fanishes at the givers wish and fancy. A flower cannot do so with its essence.
Like wise God is a concept. It is not a person.
Both ways the question does not lead towards any relevant truth.

Dear zenzero, God for many people is not just a concept of their imagination.
To love God is not an abstract vision.

I am Who I am
I love God; all the time God is on my mind to understand his connection to me and my connection to others with God being their. I contemplate on God everyday. Sometimes my actions, feelings and thoughts might not reflect it but at the end of the day God is on my mind. If I didnt love God I wouldn't have the joined this forum, to talk about him and try to be their for him in a sybolic way the same way God is their for me.

Friend Credencce,
Yes, this differences in peoples understanding led to people like Lao Tsu to state that truth cannot be spoken, whatever one said does not remain the truth.
Truth can be only a realisation.
Realisation comes only when the mind is quietend / stilled.
All thoughts are like ripples which makes the mirror hazy.

I love God, he has done so much for my family. He has helped me through my struggles with depression, he has helped my mother with hers and has helped her beat breast cancer once and I have faith in him to help her through it again (her surgery is Wednesday). My sister was able to give birth to a beautiful baby boy and he has blessed all with the strength to carry on.

I guess we can ask ourselves the same thing about almost anything.
Love is not a tangible object that we can hold in our hand.
I believe our hearts are well equipped to hold a lot of love without too much of a burden.
I can't say the same for all other emotions.

Don't be too concerned. When I first became Christian, I don't think 'love' was the right word. I think it was more amazed respect and honour, but it developed into love.

Well, that is a broad subject in that there are so many forms and concepts of God among men and they all seem to contradict the others.

Which God are you referring to?

Born Again,Spirit Filled
The Judeo Christian God says to the born again believer that the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.Rom 5:5

Outside of that Holy Ghost experience ,men at best can only love God intellectually and to some degree, emotionally.

That type of love tends to breed a superficial affection and is based on, feelings, conditions, criteria, evidences, knowledge etc,

Gal 5 :22 says God love is a fruit of the spirit of God
When one has the revelation that God loves them and that he proved that by sending his son, they accept that and believe it ,they receive the Holy Ghost and therefore the Love of God.
1Jo 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

I love God. To me, He is the source of every blessing I have. How could I not love Him?

You are mostly surely in error if you think that God created you from nothing.

Regarding the op. Yes I love God with every breath that I take and every beat of my heart.

Every being in the universe
is an expression of the Tao.
It springs into existence,
unconscious, perfect, free,
takes on a physical body,
lets circumstances complete it.
That is why every being
spontaneously honors the Tao.

The Tao gives birth to all beings,
nourishes them, maintains them,
cares for them, comforts them, protects them,
takes them back to itself,
creating without possessing,
acting without expecting,
guiding without interfering.
That is why love of the Tao
is in the very nature of things.

- from the Tao Te Ching

The tao is not "God", but it's the existential expression of "God". It's as close as we come.
