Do you think our pets have a soul?

I view all living beings as souls. I don’t believe in invisible souls or souls that separate at death. To me the words soul and living being are the same.

They are of the same nature as humans. This very topic was a game-changer for religious choices of my youth.

I don't see why other animal species would be any different to humans in this context so no, I don't think pets have anything that could be defined as "souls" either.

Of course, you've somewhat jumped over the issue of defining exactly what you mean by "a soul" in the first place. It's very easy to assert something exists if you specifically avoid defining it.

I don't believe anything has a soul, human or animal. They do have a mind, can show compassion and have their version of a mortality just as humans have.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Yes animals have individual qualitative character traits, personality, heart, and varying forms of intelligence, and unified selfhood. They are as alive as we are minus the full capacity of awareness that we have.
