I voted YES using pretty much the same considerations as @Sand Dancer

"I sadly voted no. While technology and things like it are making life better, it's not making humans better. We have gotten lazy, spoiled, greedy and judgemental."

I think as humankind continues to progress in technology, and degress in community, it will hit a time of re-set, a futuristic "Flood" that will in the long term be a substantial plus for the earth and humanity.

I voted yes. I follow Avatar Meher Baba who said it would. But beyond that, all the major world religions have a very positive view of the future. This ranges from the Hindu Satyuga, Buddhist Maitreya.Christian second coming and so forth.

Also compared to the past it has improved for the vast majority of people over the past few hundred years but of course it has a long ways to go.

I don't think there's any way of knowing if it will happen or not, but I want live in a way that will help it happen if it ever will. I have a theory about human nature that trying to live in a way that will help it happen is part of living the best life we can.

(later) ... part of living the best life we can, helping to bring out the best in ourselves, in other people, in society and in the world around us. Maybe, like a catalyst.

What positives will Satyuga, Maitreya and Jesus bring?

I just meant that people don't seem to be as nice to each other as they used to be.
Try taking a longer view...backwards. Compare religion today to religion say three or four centuries ago.The European wars of religion were a series of wars waged in Europe during the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries. Fought after the Protestant Reformation began in 1517, the wars disrupted the religious and political order in the Catholic countries of Europe, or Christendom

The human moral trend is upward but, as a graph, the temporary backsliding would make it look like a jagged line.
