Do you think there is a God? If so, why?

Why? The writers did not have reason as a mental tool, nor knowledge like we do today, science for example. So how is it useful to think like an ignorant 1st century scribe and not a highly eductaed person in the 21st century? Inevitably you are trapped in modernity and rely on things the 1st century folks didn't know about. So a huge flaw in your approach.
I think modern people are more ignorant and stupid than they were.

How do you know what the writers of the various parts of the bible intended? If it was meant literally why does it contain so many contradictions?
Bible explains what it means, that is why I think there is no reason to make own explanations.

I don't think there is any real contradiction in the Bible. I have asked many times from different people what is the greatest contradiction in the Bible and no one has been able to show any real contradiction there. Maybe there is, but I believe it only after I have seen it. The web pages that collect them, are pathetic also, I have not seen any proper contradiction in them.

Bible explains what it means...
No, it doesn't. It isn't a book written by one author, it's a disjointed collection of books by different people written over vast amounts of history. Even if one part of it explains something about its meaning, that doesn't tell you what the other authors intended.

I don't think there is any real contradiction in the Bible. I have asked many times from different people what is the greatest contradiction in the Bible and no one has been able to show any real contradiction there.
Asking for 'the greatest' is a bit vague. There are endless contradictions just in the self-consistency of the texts, there are plenty of lists online if you google it.

Why is that? It's modern people that have landed rovers on Mars, the ancients did what? Invent inplausible stores about gods and magic? Wow, not impressed.

What I see is modern people still lost in the shallow and under-educated mindsets of ancient people. Good luck trying to get along in life without modern conveniences, which I know you use since you are on the internet. Hypocrite much? Why aren't you living in a cave and scribing on tablets of clay?

And all that I have seen are poor, or very poor arguments. I have not seen any proper contradiction. Most of the claims are based on lousy interpretations that makes atheists look like fools.
