I have no idea of what the alternatives mentioned are, but anyway I can't imagine a better world than where I live. If I could dream up an alternative and get there, I suppose there would be be some less agreeable aspects of it, and so I would have to blame myself. Now, I just realize that I have a better time than anytime before, and I take drawbacks along with the positive aspects.

I own no house, so I don't have to deal with repairs, property taxes, gardening. In fact, I own very few things, so there's not much to loose. (But I would be devastated if I lost my books.) Very little to worry about, much more to enjoy.

Sometimes I'm sad that I don't have any children. On the other hand, I havent begotten any criminals, and I can extend my caring to my mom, sisters, nieces and nephews. They're a wonderful bunch. I certainly couldn't wish for more, and then I haven't even mentioned my friends.

(Is that anything like what you were feeling, or was that just the way I experienced it?)
Sort of, like... It's where you feel comfortable. Where you feel at home, or meant to be. Is that the same?

One of my novels (I'm writing it now) deals with a group of people from this universe being transported to an alternate one. It's going to be a fantasy-like one, with elves, dwarves, my own creations, and other happy stuff. I can honestly say, that if I was transported to an alternate reality like the one in my book, it would be the best thing that ever happened to me.

Ooh, I just reminded myself of something.
I'm drawing on some of you for the characters. I won't use them if you don't want, but I've got a Master Vigil character, a FeathersinHair character, No*s character (There are others, but I can't definitavely decide who they are yet) I didn't set out to create your characters, but they sort of morphed into you... Do you mind if you use them? (If I get the book published eventually, I'll be glad to put your names, or usernames, in the credits/thank you page. ;))

Feathers, you are an elf working in the Mages Guild as an apprentice.
Master Vigil, you are a man recently gone blind, who becomes a monk in the alternate reality.
No*s, you play a hermet-like wizard/sorcerer, who lives in the wilderness.

I can't give away much, or I'd ruin things, sorry... ;)

:D

So you wish you lived in an alternate reality/universe? Perhaps one from a video game? Or a book? Even a movie? I, for one, would like to live in at least a dozen different realities. Never a movie, but books, especially, and video games, have made me wish to live there. The Wheel of Time reality, for one, I would like to live in. The "Elder Scrolls" reality. The "Swords of the Coast" reality. Many others.

It's not that I'm obsessed with thoughts of them, in daily life, but that I would prefer those worlds to this one. One person I asked this question to remarked that if I truly did prefer the fantasies over realities, than I was just "sad". If this is so, than I guess I am sad. And proud of it.
Are you kidding?! This current reality is an alternate universe!!

Of course you can use me. This sounds legitimately nifty :D.

I've almost started my own stories in the past, but I never start writing them lol.

I had a dream that happened to me once. :D But I lived in a cave that spanned miles, and the entrance was at the foot of a mountain, in the middle of the forest, right by a stream. I miss that drem.

And the reason I love that is that, in my philosophy, there's a very good reason why Druidus' character 'morphed' into you, and that he would know, without asking me, that I would love to be an elf. Yay for Spirit and our RF connection!

He caught me also :). I have often dreamed about running into the desert to focus on prayer, the spiritual life, and to study the Fathers more concretely. That would make me something of a hermit if I did that :D

I've wanted to be a hermit in the mountains since I can remember. I wanted to be that martial arts master that the students would treck through the forests, and mountains to find. Yeah, thats my dream.

Hehee, when I was a kid, I repeatedly stated "I want to be a hermit when I grow up!" That was more due to being able to interact with the creatures, though.

I'm sorry, I'm just still amazed at the universe. Druidus, have you been Journeying again? ;)

Yeah, I understand that :). It's actually a place where we have a very similar desire touching in the religious area lol.

I tended to run off into the pastures even as a child myself. I preferred it, thinking, and the rattlesnakes to staying at the house :).

Journeying, Feathers? (Excuse me if I have forgotten something, but I'm fatigued, having just got back from my weight lifting session)

I used to run into the woods as a kid as well. I hated being around people, I loved being with nature. It's where I belong.
