Yes :) But it would also be a much better place if more people were more spiritual, and actually practiced the teachings of their religion, instead of wanting everyone else to be like them, because human beings are not at the same level of spiritual wisdom we do need different spiritual paths so that everyone can have a chance to gain more spiritual wisdom.
Problem today is that many say they belong within a religion but they do not follow the teaching, because it make them uncomfortable

I think religion has caused too many problems over the centuries, Christianity and Islam in particular, the world would have been better off without them.

The misunderstanding of the teachings and the lack of moral in man is the biggest problem we see within religion today, Not that religion in itself is wrong or evil. Often this is where man does not see their own fault. Unfortunately, a lot of the true teaching has been lost within many spiritual paths, because man has changed the words of the teachings, so it is extremely difficult to understand the full truth of the teachings, this is one reason we today see a moral decline in every religious path.

There is much that is immoral in the Bible and most of it attributed to the god featured there.

I find it so sad that some people spend more time looking skywards anticipating some sort of afterlife, than trying to enjoy their present existence.

Of course one will face trials and tribulations, but with luck one will also have good times as well. I am fortunate that my husband and I have wonderful children and grandchildren. I think one should do one's best to help others less fortunate if one can, which can help to give one's life meaning. If you spend too much time soaking up religion instead of getting out there and doing something worthwhile it makes you less of a person, imo.

Maybe a lack of breathing is the issue. A very under appreciated thing breathing is.

There are many things in the bible that tell humans how to become morally righterous, but man dont want to follow it because it "restrict" what is good action, words or thought.

It depends what morally righteous means?

There are people that know if you are living as a hermit will be sad for you. So just make sure know one knows.:D

It depends solely on how one chooses to live as a hermit. There are those that love their life and their existence and wouldn’t have it any others way.

Well, at least there's one. :D

It may be a matter of priorities...eternity is a long time, actually a realm not constrained by time at all. People spend a lot of time concerning what they believe are important decisions in this life: where to live, what car to buy, which college or career, medical options, etc., but I would think considering eternity would take precedence.
How do you really know that those who think about the afterlife aren't enjoying this life anyway? I don't think they are mutually exclusive and from my experience and many people I know, this life is enjoyed so much more than before we knew Jesus' love and the reality of eternal life.

It depends what is meant by morally righteous as I have said before, there are things some would consider as 'sins' which no reasonable person would think wrong, like being gay for instance.

Belief in Jesus spoilt my childhood, I was so glad when I lost my faith.

I let people be who they want to be, but example in christianity in the orginal texts they do say homosexuality is a sin that is true, but what it means (in my understanding) is that if one is born with a homosexual gender, it is not yet a sin but if one practicing christianity and do have sex with same sex, then it become a sin according to the teaching. So being gay in it self is not a sin, it is the act that is seen as a sin (as long you practice a religion that has it in its teahing)

I am truly sorry to hear that. Although, maybe it wasn't the real Jesus you were hammered with or maybe the scriptures were used as a weapon, as sadly too often it is. I can't really know. How did it spoil your childhood. if you want to say?

Most of history for most people has been very ugly - what is call ed the "Kali Yuga" in the East. When one is miserable and sick, enjoying life is really really hard.

But to the extent one can do this, I agree.

Life without a form of spiritual aspect would be dull to me.

And meaningless to me.

It is far better to learn things than to be happy and rest on my laurels. Life is not made for mere enjoyment, it is about learning and learning is a very painful process. What would you rather have a happy life (there are drugs for that) or an interesting life?

I agree meaning and purpose in life is important, but only the Bible gives us real HOPE.
Sure we want to enjoy our present existence, for what healthy person wants to pick the day he wants to die ______
It is because of tribulation, and in meaning the coming great tribulation of Revelation 7:14,9 that we will have good times for everyone on Earth - Revelation 22:2.
Good times coming under Jesus' coming 1,000-year governmental reign over Earth in righteousness.
Mankind's history has proven man can't successfully govern himself.
Would you move your wonderful children and grandchildren to part of Earth where there are food shortages____
Mankind has Not solved the food distribution problem.
Would you move your children and grandchildren to war torn areas of Earth.
Mankind has Not solved the violent war problem.
There is nothing in mankind's history, or today's technology that shows man will solve such problems.
Whereas, God-given hope ( H.O.P.E. Hold On Pain Ends ) because Jesus as King of God's Kingdom of Daniel 2:44 will bring Peace on Earth and end the problems mankind can't solve.-> Psalms 72:8; Psalms 72:12-14.

First of all, a happy life and an interesting life aren't mutually exclusive possibilities... one can have a happy life that is also interesting.

Second of all, why should I spend a lot of my life in pain when it's so short and the knowledge I gain won't benefit me after I die anyway since there doesn't seem to be good evidence for an afterlife? Why not enjoy the only life I know I have rather than spending it in pain learning things that won't even benefit me in the long run? Also many religions seem to suggest that we'll be different people after we die and that the memories of this life won't be remembered and so everything we learn here is meaningless anyway since we won't need it or remember it in the afterlife.

Thirdly, even people who seek a life filled with pain/suffering or learning do it for a sense of satisfaction or fulfillment and do you know what's a synonym for satisfaction? It's happiness and do you what fulfillment leads to? It leads to happiness. So even those people who claim to not want a happy life but a meaningful one that's filled with suffering ultimately do it in order to be happy.

Whatever turns you on, it turns me right off.
I do wonder what turns you off about the Golden Rule _________ That is a spiritual aspect to life.
What is a turn off as found in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount _____ That has to do with spiritual aspects to life.
What is a turn off about Jesus' New commandment found at John 13:34-35 to have the same self-sacrificing love for others as Jesus has. In other words, the spiritual aspect of now loving neighbor ' more ' than self.
Who was ever arrested for cultivating the spiritual aspects of God's spirit as listed at Galatians 5:22-23 ____________

I find 'afterlife' means: being more alive after death than before death, and that is Not a Bible teaching.
The dead 'sleep' in death (John 11:11-14; Psalms 115:17 Psalms 146:4; Isaiah 38:18 ; Ecclesiastes 9:5)
The Bible teaches: Resurrection. Not resurrected as a different person but the same only in a healthy body.
Plus, the Bible speaks of a 'future resurrection' back to a happy-and-healthy physical life on Earth once Jesus begins his 1,000-year governmental rulership over Earth. ( the future tense is used at Acts of the Apostles 24:15)
As for those of us still alive at a soon coming ' time of separation ' to take place on Earth as found at Matthew 25:31-33,37,40 we have the opportunity to remain alive on Earth to see calendar Day One of Jesus' millennium-long day of governing over Earth.
This means we can be part of the living who will be here on Earth to welcome back the resurrected dead who can have the opportunity to live forever on Earth as originally offered to Adam before his downfall.
