does god exist

One thing. Just explain to me ONE thing that isn't a form of energy in one way or another. Do this and I thnk you'll even make "God, if he were to exist as a being" raise an eyebrow.
Rune: It's well established in physics (for around 100 years) that energy and mass are different forms of the same thing, and, taken together, are what the universe is made of, so this isn't a very controversial proposition.

Motion, heat, light, thought, breath, understanding, knowledge, chemical reactions, spirit, love, death, life....the list goes on. Energy is what makes things happen. You should know it, you're body IS one of those chemical reactions, as are the thoughts you are thinking just now. I can feel the vibes already. Don't you?
So "energy" means "anything and everything?" When the definition of a word is too broad, it then loses all meaning.

Well. It was a long and winding road for me, I was raised in a Catholic family, baptised and confirmed in that faith, I was not a practicing Catholic and didn’t go to Church very often after that, later (as teenager) I attended more often but didn’t put much attention, I went there to socialise and check the girls out, as a young man I became interested in politic and participated in the Trades Union affair, mostly socialism and communism and offcourse I left my faith, I read several books and poetry and became an unbeliever. I migrated to Australia and continued my involvement an those thing, I also got invited to marriages, baptisms, so I was reacquainted with religion, I got married, I made contact with evangelists and joined one Church, I started to not only read the Bible, but to study it, to meditated on what it teaches, that is the way I was converted.

So, again, how did you choose what to have faith in in the first place?

Well, ask and it well given to you, seek it and you will find, but you don’t want that, do you? really I don’t understand atheists, luckily there are no many of them, so although they are a naissance, it is a little one.
I did all that. I asked, and the truth was given to me; there is no God. I sought God, and learned that He doesn't exist.

What is it that you don't understand?

It is all just a matter of how you look at things. I don't care about the word "God" or the word "Energy", nor do I care about it's definition. All I am saying is that "essence" however you want to call it or define it Exists and to me that power is what governs my existence. What governs Your existence? Why are you here? It is just my own interpretation of how things came to be. I choose to have an open mind on the matter, as for you, I really don't care if you believe it or not. That is up to you. We make our own choices. You obviously already made you're mind up on the matter. I have no care or desire to change that. I am only stating my belief. What is it YOU don't understand about that? Every single person on this planet was given a mind and the ability to choose for themselves. No one can take that away from them. Everything changes, so that must also mean that our own beliefs can not remain the same forever. My beliefs will change and grow over time as should yours. As we learn new things, our views and beliefs should naturally change and grow, if they don't then there IS somethng wrong. That is called having a closed mind which leads only to stagnation, bitterness, and loneliness. If that's you're path, I have no problem with that. Good luck on you're journeys.:D

He who knows nothing but has an open mind, is closer to learning and finding truth than he who believes in nothing. For in nothing we gain nothing. To err is to be human.

When the definition of a word is too broad, it just means that the message which is trying to be conveyed is "bigger" than words can define. The definition is not as important as the message. How about if I just call it by another name? I could, but would that really make it easier to understand? What if I just called it the All-Presence. But then others might not be able to relate to it as something as real and tangible as energy. If I went on and said that everything that exists is Tiddlywinks, people would not take me seriously. I hope that makes some sense as to why I define things the way I do. Thank you for your opinions and your ungodly criticism.:angel2:

Or that people just use the world too much when it is not required. There's a word that encompasses everything, and that word is "universe."

The definition is not as important as the message.

Perhaps, but without the definition, we don't understand the message.

Yes, because you have removed the possibility of us mistaking the meaning of the word you are using.[/quote]

How about universe?

Don't ask me where I come up with this stuff, it just sort of boils around in my head until it needs to be released. I have a thought on something, kind of on a cosmic universal scale. Think of a star in deep space, billions of miles way. How do we see it? The reason why we see it is because we see it's energy. Light-energy, obviously. Therefore, that which we think of as being just a void in space from here to there is actually energy because that light goes everywhere and can be seen from every single point of the Earth. Light energy in a sense "fills" the void making it in some way or on some level "exist". There are so many different forms of energy out there it is truly amazing. Maybe energy isn't "God", but it certainly is everywhere and affects everything. Even beyond human comprehension. Such things as Dark Matter and Dark Energy are even proposed by fundamental laws of physics. I believe that in our Universe, there is truly no Void. Everything is Energy. If you believe that "God" is Energy, then "God" in a sense truly exists and can not be disproven. Can anyone disprove the existence of Energy?

I'll just shut up now about it to save you guys from having to say it. Sorry for my incessant ramblings of God and Energy. But thanks for allowing me the opportunity to express myself and my beliefs. It's been a blast!:D

You are right, I guess what I really worship or believe in IS the Universe, and all the energy contained within it. Thank you for clarifying that, but I think most people already got the "gist" of the message, even though I was so "unclear" about it.

Would you call yourself a pantheist, then?

Vegetarian Meat Eater... Moderate Leftist Right winger? Carniverous Plant Eater? Non Omnivore Meat Eater?

People put too much emphasis on titles and try to redefine words to fit their world outlook. (Perhaps just for attention or to prove how unique they are)

Maybe I'm an "eclectic" Pantheist, who knows? Maybe I'm part pantheist and part panentheist, is that even possible? Maybe I'm just crazy. At least I "know" that's possible.:p

That my friend, is SO true. Thank you! There truly is NO words that can express in fullness and entirety the belief that I have. It just is what it is.

I may be a bit panentheistic actually, not 100% though. For me, my belief is more than just the "sum of all things", it is also the "absence" of things if that makes any sense. For I believe that it is in the "absence" wherin lies the potential for the "sum". It can not truly be called an "absence" though. More specifically, it is comparable or perhaps the equivalent of the "spirit" of the Universe. It is everywhere and in all things. For there to be a body, there needs to be a mind and spirit also. But that's just my opinion.

I think the pantheists and panentheists of early history had a pretty good grasp on what was "going on". They didn't even know what science or energy was. It seems to me like the earlier one goes back in religious belief systems, the more and more their beliefs define or exemplify what Reality was or IS. I would rather pray to or worship an animal, tree or stone, than worship a Man. But I really have no choice on the matter. To be what I am I must worship Everything. If all that means is living for the greater good of things, then so be it!

This is going to be too hard for you to understand, but here I go, I don’t think that I chose anything, it was God that chose to have mercy on me, if any I may say that my mother’s prayers and supplication had something to do with it, I am forever grateful to her and God.

As you know God (in Christianity) is omniscient, now tell me truly what did you desired with all your heart to know when you asked? I got the feeling that deep in your heart you wanted the answer that you got, there is no God and now I can go around mocking those the believe that there is God, I am smarter than the average bear booboo! Sort of thing, I have asked this before “What if God does not want you in His kingdom? Does that make Him a lesser God to me? That is a matter for you to think about,If that were the case you would not get a positive answer. I got an answer and I live this life in happiness and cope better than the Godless, because I have hopes, I trust that God will turn everything right and I will live an eternity in a bliss, so whatever disturbances and trails I go through is worth the reward and I stay put on my beliefs.
