Does Hillary's disdain for Obama in her emails matter?

Hi....
How? How can one faction cause, and be blamed, for such a situation?
I would have expected Americans to mostly blame the lazy disinterested majority?
The Christian pro-life vote is the most reliable (and I think the most betrayed) voting block here (USA). You talk about the disinterested majority -- well the religious pro-life voters are disinterested in anything except whether a candidate mouths support for pro-life, and after that they don't follow politics at all. Many don't want to hear the news and say that all the media are evil. They don't check to see if candidates are creeps, liars and such. A candidate merely claims to oppose abortion and to support Christian ministries and their interests, and they get the vote. It doesn't matter if they have a rat tail and shoes made of human skin. It happens year after year, vote after vote whether or not the candidate really does anything to support pro life. It doesn't matter if the candidate has a history of abortion, if they don't pay tithes (Like Mr. Cruz) or get caught swindling state funds. I have repeatedly pointed out that during Mr. Romney's campaign, the Republican web site said he was pro life, but his political website showed that he was clearly pro choice! This went unnoticed by the religious right! Candidates get full support with almost no questions asked! This kind of single issue voter support is very unhealthy for our political system, but it has been consistent for 30+ years. Around a core of pious pro-life but otherwise disinterested voters one party has build a facade of religiosity, such that it is looked upon in many groups as a sin not to vote for said party. Oh, yes, I do blame the religious right for the current mess we are in.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I'm a Brit so she won't lose anything from me, but I wouldn't vote for her, simply because I admire President Obama who has been elected to the Presidency twice. If Hillary Clinton has shown that she despises such a President then that would tell me what I need to know.

She does seem to be tricky in many ways.

But then there is Donald Trump. How in the United States of America could its 300 million people choose these two as Presidents elect?
They don't choose. It's the choices offered under the pretense of choosing.

Ok...... thanks for the detail. I do belong to some extreme religious US forums, (they shock me so much that they're interesting, rather like an anacraphobic needing to stare at that big spider!). They sometimes run Pro-life threads, hailing imprisoned or executed murderers and tallying up how many babies have probably been saved since the deaths of the abortion-doctors. To even ask a question on such forums can bring stern messages from site-bosses. So your explanation does ring bells...............

It might actually be helpful (long term) if you get a really really very bad President, because that might wake up your electorate for a few decades, into taking more interest and care about all leadership.

We need to wake up as well, although our Scottish and Brexit referendums have cattle-prodded us to semi-consciousness now.

You would think, but it lasted about 15 minutes after Bush left the white house...

Aye, you folks across the pond are only in slightly better shape.

"...Far more damaging are the emails where Powell discusses Clinton, her email scandal, her health, and her apparent hatred of President Obama. I suspect each of these suddenly very current topics, and not the slam on Trump, are the real reason why the alleged hacking outfit, DCLeaks.com chose to publish the emails now..."

Democrats have often shallowly said people who disagree with Obama are racist.... will that come back to haunt Hillary?

I think the larger message is what she actually thinks of her supporters. They're bugs to be trod on. Thank goodness Cruz or Rubio didn't beat Trump, or you'd be in for a Republican government.
