does masterbation make you feel guilty

I remember going to Catholic school and having a 90 year old priest (or at least he looked that old) telling us 6th graders that we had to refrain from such "disgusting" practices.
I think religion warps a child into thinking things that are normal, natural, and good, are somehow evil or nasty.
It took me a while to shake off the chains of that guilt trip, but I eventually did. Now....pffft! I don't feel guilty about ANYTHING that harms no one in any way.

I've never felt guilty about doing it.
I did it when I was much younger to enjoy and explore the sensual and sexual side of me.
I did it some years ago (before kids, obviously) when I was stressed out and prayer/meditation just didn't quite cut it for me. It REALLY helped me to fall asleep at night.
I do it now usually when my husband is away and I have some free time when I'm feeling a little "frisky."
I see nothing wrong with it as long as one does not become attached or dependent on it.
My beliefs came to a test when my husband and I seperately discovered our two older kids enjoying the art of self-pleasing. It caught me by surprise, at first, because it is another one of those moments that shows how quickly children grow up. But we have sat down with them on numerous occasions to remind them that it's OK and they're not "freaks" at all.
Just keep the door closed - that's all.

I don't feel any guilt at all. It is natural, and healthy, and can promote better sex with your partner. Matter of fact part of my job happens to be to encourage women to masturbate, so I definately don't think it's bad, harmful or immoral in any way.

I actually used to feel guilty about it. I used to pray to God to take away these desires the devil was tempting me with. Finally I realized what crap that was. After finally relieving myself of all guilt, I saw as long as it did not interfere with my life and hobbies, then what was wrong with enjoying life a little bit more.
