Garbage.
Students should be taught according to their needs and individuality, not as a uniformity. If you don't take in mind a student's individual needs, they are likely to fail. This crushing conformity in pedagogy needs to end because it's ruining the educational careers of otherwise very gifted students, like it did with me. My dreams have been crushed because of this and I'm likely not to get anywhere in life due to it. I was once in "gifted and talented" classes but my depression, anxiety and the lack of help or notice from faculty ruined all of that. I should be in graduate school right now, but I don't even have a GED. Help kids when they need it. Start to care as soon as you can. Take notice.
As for you, I'll take the opinion of your doctors over your own since you seem very ignorant about this topic.
It will benefit the student more in the long run if they are challenged more.
I think that psychology is a load of bat****. It tries to medicalize everything, from mental weakness and stupidity to external circumstances. When money is involved, there is no credibility.
