My religious beliefs make me happy. When I was a sinner, I was very unhappy with my self. Now that I am not a sinner, I am very happy with myself and very happy to have Jesus as my Savior from sin.
My daughter is very unhappy with herself and has tried to commit suicide a number of times. She has rejected the salvation of Jesus because she loves her sin.
My son is an atheist who attends church with his wife. He appears to be happy with his religious belief but then he has a good conscience and doesn't have a major problem with sin.
Nobody is perfect. Therefore, no one can say that he does not sin. Sin is the transgression of the Law. The only chance to be saved from sin is to observe the Law.
How can your son be an Atheist if he has religious beliefs? What do you mean to have a major problem with sin?
