Honestly this is all besides the point. The effect his rhetoric and campaign has was harmful. Period.

I disagree with their analysis, but even liberal anti-Trump journalists who meet Trump begrudgingly admit he is likeable and charming in person.

I have been saying this for a year now: the candidate Trump will be far different President Trump. On the campaign trail, he was the hype man. He was the guy that came out and got people fired up. He was not afraid to say what he thought and refused to be politically correct. He touched on numerous concerns that millions of Americans have talked about in private conversations. You don't reach out and flip 6 states without having some idea of what you are doing. The man was a genius with his strategy.

President Trump will be more refined. The White House and Oval Office have a tendency to change a person. From day one of his acceptance speech, he seemed to be a far cry from prior to the election. Calling for unity, asking for pro-Trump crowds to stop harassing anti-Trump protesters, letting everyone know that he is working for all of us, not just some far right demographic. If he can broker better deals with other governments because of his business ventures (the Bank of China is in Trump Tower, btw) then he is exactly what we need right now.

Give him a chance.
