Don't you just hate it when...

Today's pet hate is power cuts and i posted on this forum because...

Today i am making a casserole (2 actually, one meat, one vegi). The meat one takes about 4 or 5 hours to cook.

Despite being without electricity for 2 days last year while the electric company upgraded the supply to "reduce" the number of power cuts we still get just as many as before the upgrade. Not a terrific amount, maybe 3 or 4 days a year with either one long outage or several short ones

Anyway, I got the oven up to 160 (325f - gas 3) while preparing the ingredients.

Placed the 2 casseroles in the oven, and we went out for a walk for a couple of hours.

When we returned it was obvious there had been a power cut, the oven was off (which it does after a power interruption) and i have no idea how long it had been like that.

We've had 3 more short ones since. It's so annoying...

What are your pet hates?

Getting stuck at the same red light twice because the cars in front of me were moving too slowly or hesitantly when it turned green.

For an introvert like me, its really annoying to have loud, noisy and pushy people around.

You hope.
I've known & observed him long enuf.
He's a far better man than I ever was.
(You're thinking....faint praise, eh.)
The real test was living & working together 24-7
during the entire pandemic in a 300 sq ft NYC
apartment. Few could survive that unscathed.
Audi deserves better than she's met so far.

Another screw/nail in a tire. Yesterday I was driving somewhere and the tire idiot light came on. So I pulled over, saw a tire was low and carefully drove to the local gas station that deals with such things. A screw about 2 inches long was extracted from the tire. My wife wonders why this has happened relatively often to me with this car. I blame karma (or carma if you prefer).

I don't have broadband, so I rely on my smartphone (4G) to access the Internet. Some days the signal is ****e, which is a pest if I need to order something online, or whatever.

Some nasty people wedge them between the tread and the road. they get forced in when you drive off.
