And here he is in comparison to my other two dogs:

It's a pseudo breed called a 'bully whippet'... they all have the mutation that blocks myostatin and so they grow disturbingly large muscle mass.

It's also bred for in the Belgan Blue breed of cattle, so massive that they can't give natural birth.

It's also recently been found in a human... a boy (who is being kept anonymous) at seven months old could lift seven pound weights in one hand. It has yet to be seen how this mutation will effect his long term health. They are worried especially about his heart.
Though other concerns with proper growth and nervous system health due to lack of adequate fat reserves are also potential problems.

The regular size of a whippet is the one on the right. Whippets are breed to run, but instead of double muscle tone the one on the left got double mass. It has a little shorter life span but is still happy and healthy. Most importantly it looks really cool.

The photos give no indiction of size.
What do you mean by "double muscled" Sonic? It sounds like you mean there are two copies of each individual muscle. I doubt this is the case. I suspect your whippet is just a heavily muscled mutation.

As to size, isn't an extra large whippet a greyhound?

Apparently though hyenas aren't classified as dogs. Also I found out Dingos make good pets.

Hyaenids are completely different from Canids! They are closer to overgrown mongooses or civets than dogs.

Dingos are true dogs. Brought to Oz millenia ago with the first settlers and largely gone feral.
From what I understand they are tameable but unpredictable. Not very good pets.

It might not be exactly double (muscle mass) you know what I mean. Actually in the post you quoted from me it says "double mass."

It is "double" muscle mass... myostatin regulates muscle growth. The mutation prevents myostatin production and so the muscles have no signal to stop developing.

It's a recessive mutation so both parents need a copy of the mutant gene for it to express in the children. (homozygus)

There is a second mutation that does something similar, but it blocks the uptake of myostatin rather than the production. It's equally rare.

Bully whippets are the same height as normal whippets if that helps you picture the overall size of them.
Here is a link to better pictures to demonstrate the size difference.

Again long term health problems are still undetermined, as bullies are produced by breeding parents with single mutations. I'm not sure if bullies can reproduce naturally.
The cattle for example can't give birth to their massive offspring and need to deliver via c-section.
