I would probably be a proffesional bassist in a power metal band, or failing that, a multibillionaire will be fine.

But since I blew that opportunity in the chemically-induced haze of stupidity, I'll settle for the what's often referred to as "the best job in the world" ~ Firefighter.

If I'm gonna scratch out a living by working for someone else, being a career firefighter is top of the list for jobs. After being a paramedic for almost 18 years and a firefighter for nearly 15 of those (9 in my current job), I'll be eligable to retire in 11 more years. If I'm not too broken down to keep doing it, I can see liking what I do enough to stay on. We have guys that have stayed 15 or more years after being eligible (and financially able) to retire. How many folks can honestly say they like their job that much?
