They're particularly pricey & in short supply these days.
So beat the competition.

You have a nail in the tread of your tire.
What do you do?
There are many tire repair methods out there.
What's cheap, easy, & durable?
I like "rope" plugs.
One brand & kit...
BlackJack KT-340 T-Bone Tire Repair Kit
But judgment is required.
Follow directions about when & can & can't use them.
For safety critical applications, treat them as a temporary repair.
Have a tire service center inspect the tire, & recommend what to do.
I fixed a 3/4" gash in Mr Mower's tire, & it's held up well for over a year now.
I just fixed a trailer tire, but I'll have Discount Tire inspect it.
It'll become the spare.
These tires are all scheduled for replacement soon anyway....already 5 years old.
Failure will be likely by tread separation (my experience) rather than by plug failure.
I've used plugs many times. Never had a problem with them. However you might point out they are only for tubeless tires(in case some may not know).
I do this for trailer tires or in a dually pair. They are no longer available in Europe because of their tendency to blow out.
I therefore suggest only using plugged tyres on the rear. A rear tyre blowout is far safer than a front blowout

Failure isn't safety critical.
And I'm installing tire pressure sensors for warning.
But plugs (awkward phrasing) are safe when the
tire is inspected to find no damage, & a patch is
installed inside the tire over the plug.
Mushroom plugs bad.Yes the but plugs should be patched or a mushroom plug used, repaired from inside.
I believe that as a quick fix plugs were forced into the puncture from outside. No inner sealing used.
Faint heart ne'er won fairlaneI just fold in the face of competition.
Remember the Revoltistanian battle cry...
"Damn the torpedoes...full speed astern!"
I never had a Fairlane.Faint heart ne'er won fairlane
I never had a Fairlane.
Not so dumb at 100+mph though.Of course. Faint heart.
Dumb looking car anyway
Or use the handyman's secret weapon. Why not just get a new car
