if a woman violates her conscience it may trouble her or even condemn her(((Because of the opprobrium some people heap on them, thinking their choice to be immoral.
Christian rhetoric is worse than useless if your audience does not believe in such.if a woman violates her conscience it may trouble her or even condemn her(((
Romans 2:14,15
for when people of the nations, who do not have law,do by nature the things of the law, these people, not having law,are a law to themselves.they are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them, and by their own thoughts they are being accused or even excused"
people decide for themselves
Quoting Christianity to non-Christians is a bit futile..don't you think?if a woman violates her conscience it may trouble her or even condemn her(((

a personal choice or a question of morality?
why not just to think?Quoting Christianity to non-Christians is a bit futile..don't you think?
Hang on.a personal choice or a question of morality?
I agree .there lots of reasons.but abortion is killing.
Fine...if you believe in a god, don't have an abortion.in God's eyes human life is sacred
why not just to think?
Except that Christianity was opposed to abortion from the earliest times, from what we know:As you can see, YHWH does not think as much about a foetus as you do. Unborn child dies: fined by husband or judge.
But if she dies, "an eye for an eye" etc.
Maybe women who have abortions suffer from depression because of the social stigma that the religious heap upon them. Guilt is a powerful weapon, especially in the hands of the superstitious. It's the never-ending witch hunt.
WHAT?! That's it! I am boycotting Off!So is smacking a mosquito that landed on your arm.
What? I have considered and rejected Christianity. There are Hindu views about this that I personally hold but I do not consider non-Hindu-s to be beholden to them.why not just to think?
Yes. The Didache is quite conclusive here. But still does not apply to non-Christians.Except that Christianity was opposed to abortion from the earliest times, from what we know:
"However, that the early Christians agreed in rejecting abortion is more generally accepted.[40][41][42][43][44] They condemned it as a serious sin,[45][46] even before ensoulment.[29]While agreeing that abortion was seen as a sin, some writers consider that those Christians viewed early abortion as on the same level as general sexual immorality,[4] or that they saw it as a grave contra-life sin like contraception and sterilization,[5][7] while others hold that it was for them "an evil no less severe and social than oppression of the poor and needy".[6] Even in cases where abortion was seen as more than a sexual crime, the practice was still associated with sexual immorality.[1]"

"Chapter 2. The Second Commandment: Grave Sin Forbidden. And the second commandment of the Teaching; You shall not commit murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not commit pederasty, you shall not commit fornication, you shall not steal, you shall not practice magic, you shall not practice witchcraft, you shall not murder a child by abortion nor kill that which is born. You shall not covet the things of your neighbor, you shall not swear, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not speak evil, you shall bear no grudge. You shall not be double-minded nor double-tongued, for to be double-tongued is a snare of death. Your speech shall not be false, nor empty, but fulfilled by deed. You shall not be covetous, nor rapacious, nor a hypocrite, nor evil disposed, nor haughty. You shall not take evil counsel against your neighbor. You shall not hate any man; but some you shall reprove, and concerning some you shall pray, and some you shall love more than your own life."

Yeah, I know. However, I was replying to a certain post and this is in the Religious Debates section. I also feel that the OP is being dog-piled on.Yes. The Didache is quite conclusive here. But still does not apply to non-Christians.
People make all sorts of decisions. There are many opinions on things considered sins but even if you think it is a sin, should people not have a choice? Perhaps we can also send a memo to God to stop aborting fetuses when people choose to have a baby on purpose.I have been mother for many years and I am strongly convinced that abortion is the worst decision ever made
If you are a Christian, you should not have an abortion is a more defensible position. Not seen an OP of that nature here...yet.Yeah, I know. However, I was replying to a certain post and this is in the Religious Debates section. I also feel that the OP is being dog-piled on.
These grave sins are forgivable?Except that Christianity was opposed to abortion from the earliest times, from what we know:
