I thought easter was supposed to be about Jesus?
Where'd the rabbits, chickens, eggs, come from?
Oh, nooooooooooooooooo, don't tell me easter is influenced by a pagan fertility celebration!
Why do Christian churchs decorate with plastic rabbits & eggs, & such?

Pagans can't have all the fun :) It's not like doing an egg hunt or eating chocolate bunnies is reverential worship of a pagan God.

I know some will equate it to partaking at the table of demons. :screamcat:
It's no more such a thing than is having a BBQ on Memorial Day.

Rabbits & eggs are symbols of fertility. The name is derived from IIRC, Eostre/Ostara, the name of a month in some of the Germanic calenders. And the chocolate is because if you don't like chocolate **** you.

Because if you removed all the pagan influences from Christianity you'll be left with nearly nothing.

THAT is a very, very, great point. One of my pet peeves with Christendom in fact. It is briming with paganism, fact is the early
church deliberately blended paganism to gain pagan converts.
Ever notice painting that show saints, Jesus, with the gold glowing halo?
Ancient sun god pagan symbol don'cha'know?
There is much, much, more.
And I happen to love chocolate but not the cheap stuff bunnies are made of.

And if they hadn't done that, your variant of Christianity wouldn't exist, and you and I together would likely still be celebrating an unbroken line of Europe's native traditions.

I rather think it was to keep them.

Where'd this bloodied chap on a cross come from?
Oh, noooooooo don't tell me that Easter is influenced by a monotheist redemptive/salvation celebration!
Why do heathen lands decorate with churches and crosses and such?

Probably for the fun of it. Jesus didnt have spot lights and drama shows in His day, but Churches still use them in sermon amd on holidays. I see no confliction with painting eggs. Its not intended outside of the joy of secular related easter. Nothing more.

If Jesus was here, wonder if Hed paint and egg or two knowing he was doing it for fun.

Yep, that is exactly true....except that you are talking about Christendom, not Christianity. Please don't confuse them.
I would argue that both have immense pagan influence. Nothing is created in a vacuum, after all, and there will be undoubted mixing of ideas & faiths over literally two thousand years.
