Some might enjoy it. (not directed at anyone in particular, just in general)

I was at a foster home as a kid...and we would chop off chicken's heads with an ax, and they would run around headless...and unlike my foster parent, i would have to hit the chicken over and over again before its head would come off, then the chicken would be dipped in hot water, the features pulled out, then all the guts pulled out, and let me tell ya, it was a process that decreased my pleasure in eating chicken ;)

Oh, baby! Ha, yes seeing animals meat sictheir ends in a slaughter house or hunting etc was one of the things that began to turn me against eating meat. Your story reminded me of my poor neighbor who was an elderly woman of about 80 determined to kill a chicken for her family. She said it was a gift from her son and she was going to surprise him by having it for dinner. I watched her from my back yard as she finally pinned the struggling, squalling bird and struck it with a axe, apparent trying to behead it in one blow. Well the axe must have been super dull because it only knocked the bird out, kind of. It was still breathing so she whacked it two or three more times which caused blood to spurt all over her white dress and its eyes to pop out. That chicken then jumped up and its head broke off, but it still ran in circles, headless!. By the time I made it out the back door and over the chain link fence the bird was dead.

I didn't see this (above) quote until I had already replied. I guess the old lady's ordeal was no so uncommon eh?

NOTE; I will reply to everyone asap, for some reason I feel near as bad as that chicken I wrote about today. Everyone have a blessed day ~

This is unfortunate ignorance of how to kill a chicken and prepare it. I grew up on a farm and know better. This does not justify either side.
