Eggs: Yes, they are good for you

godless wonder
So it's just as easy to have boiled eggs and soldiers?

I bet those people who drink it raw are kicking themselves now. :D
Yep. Lol, when I was younger I did it cause I saw it on "Rocky" and thought that what you needed to do to get bigger.

Eggs are bad, eggs are good. Pork is bad, pork is bad. Wine is bad, wine is good. They can never make up their minds

LOL I wasn't paying attention to what I was writing. But then again, I'm Jewish so I guess subconsciously I was paying attention:p

LOL. I thought so!

In any case, I do agree that the so-called dieticians and other health practitioners keep changing their minds with these things... like chocolate! :D

Yep. Chocolate is a good one, but only dark chocolate is good for you. Coffee is another good one. The syrup in soda is bad. Red meat, dairy(PETA actually claims a link between autism and cow's milk), sugar, salt. Tea was bad, now it's good again, but only green tea. Too much of one vegetable is bad, while overeating on another is good. They even changed to food pyramid to add fat. But only certain fats.

I gave up long ago on dietitians. I figured my body knew what was good for it and would let me know what wasn't.

I just kinda shove everything (lacto-vegetarianly) in my mouth, knowing that it will come out in one way or another.

I agree! I'm only young but I'm already fed up with all the changing opinions. I'll do what seems intelligent and listen to my body.

It's the only thing that makes sense.
My body told me, "Hey lady! No milk on an empty stomach!" Now, this is probably telling me I should stop with the dairy, period, but I can't stand soy, almond, or rice milk. So I just limit my intake. My husband can't eat too much red meat or he gets gout. So we limited our meat intake and switched from ground beef to ground turkey. His gout has been a no-show for 5 yrs. I love dried fruit but one of my kids can't tolerate it so that is limited in our home too. Same with strawberries.

And maybe it is not the food itself that is bad for us. Maybe it is the processing of those foods that is causing all the cancers they are warning us about. But, they insist that they are just trying to make the foods safer for us to eat:rolleyes:

So I had a fried egg a few days ago... after avoiding them like the plague for four years.

They weren't bad, but the high amounts of fat and cholesterol do scare me...

I think I'll stick to as everyone else does who are lacto-vegetarians: if it's in the food, I'm not going to make a ruckus about it, but I'm not going to cook it or eat it by itself. :p

So while I can eat it in breads and pastries, egg-drop soup is probably not my hankering for a while.

I still maintain that it is liquid flesh; not unlike eating human placenta.

Google Michael Phelp's diet, and then consider how much exercise he gets. He eats 10 - 12,000 calories a day, mostly in carbs. That shows that you can indulge, as long as you can burn it off.

I sure hope they are good for us, we get about 2 dozen a day from our chickens.
About twice a month we have to eat a lot of egg based meals or our refrigerator will fill up with them... but with 5 growing kids it isn't to hard to get rid of the excess...lol
