End Times

What's your view/opinion on the end times and all of the events protrayed in the book of Revelations?

End time=Something some religious people believe in to give them hope that there god will make all the hurt and pain go way.

Revelation=Political propaganda written by John about what was going on in Rome and the Roman ruler(Nero) at the time. If you read Rev. and want to put it to something real, don't look at this day and age, look at Rome at the time, that fit's way better then now. Nero was call the Beast, his name added up to 666, and you had to have a mark of Rome to buy or sell there, orders from Nero himself. He also hated Christians...a lot.

I agree with Religulous viewpoint that thinking the end times in near leads to apathy about the current state of the environment and other things except for of course the soul of the unsaved.

That the author(s) got their images from the same place Coleridge got his Xanadu.

A damsel with a dulcimer
In a vision once I saw :
It was an Abyssinian maid,
And on her dulcimer she played,
Singing of Mount Abora.
Could I revive within me
Her symphony and song,
To such a deep delight 'twould win me,
That with music loud and long,
I would build that dome in air,
That sunny dome ! those caves of ice !
And all who heard should see them there,
And all should cry, Beware ! Beware !
His flashing eyes, his floating hair !
Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.
