Oh dear, looks as though Boris is gambling with the lives of his citizens.

In my opinion.
Went to the Doctors yesterday, all the patients had to wait outside in the heat, one old lady on crutches nearly fainted, I had to get the receptionist to let me get a chair for her, the receptionist was not happy. Then went into a shop to get an ice cream, no social distancing, no masks, shop crowded.

It is madness here in Cornwall

It's them bloody tourists.
I went to my local shops yesterday and everyone is still wearing masks and doing the pavement tango. The madness begins at No.10.

He's an ideologically driven fool, who is too lazy to think through the consequences of what he does and always tries to please the last group to put pressure on him, in this case a bunch of rightwing Tory MPs with zero medical knowledge.

He's already having to introduce new countermeasures, even as he announces removing them, viz. Covid passports for nightclubs, from late September. I would place a small bet that there will be further countermeasures announced before then, too, as the epidemic hots up over the summer.

He's a dangerous berk.

Yes and being selfish it might well be my life, I was due to have a stent fitted July 13th of last year, the appointment was cancelled and the one hospital in Cornwall tells me they cannot book another appointment because of the back log they already have. The hospital is already on black alert and we have the third wave with us already.

60% of people being admitted to UK hospitals are unvaccinated - adviser

Therefore, 40% of vacinated people are still admitted for covid to hospital!

What is going on?
does the vacine work or not?
I also learned that tens of thousands of people who did take the vaccine, dies within 2 weeks from complications.
What about natural immunity, obviously it is better than any vaccene. Why does it not count?

There are too many crosstalk by doctors and virologists, and it seems that the one wants to be a bigger superstar than the next.

My opinion, I think it will be better for all to just get the virus, live or die, and get over it.

My mother is 84 if she gets it she will die, thanks for your fine Christian thoughts towards her!

Ive not really seen the problems from the hospital backlog situation although i know it it serious.

I do see the mental health problems, both with conservative nhs cut backs and covid, and they are very bad, i do dispare for England over the next few years.

Here is hoping you are able to get your surgery soon.

Not sure it is made up, but it does hide the bigger picture. 70% of people in UK are vaccinated so we are looking at 60% of the hospitalised cases coming from 30% of the population. When you also factor in that most of those not vaccinated are not the ones likely to be hospitalised due to age and fitness we can see that it is overwhelmingly clear that your risk of being hospitalised is vastly reduced if you have had the vaccine.

I dont believe those figures, there are much less fully vaccinated people in hospital than that, but UK has many people with only one dose, risk is much higher for them

I wouldn't believe any covid figure dished out by the UK government.

Has anyone noticed the media is only reporting cases of corona but not the deaths? The original strain from China was at the peak when it started to spread. It was a very well designed virus. The new variants may be more contagious, but they appear to be less deadly, or else the death mongering would have started again. The common cold is very contagious but not very deadly.

This is the normal evolution for virus. Weaker strains can survive longer since their host lives longer to help pass the strain around. The more deadly strains act so fast that they immobilize and isolate people, so they get passed less between people. The weaker strains, in terms of their lower morality, also allow the human immune system an easier and longer fight leading to individual and herd immunity. The vaccine will make this even easier of course.

What you need to keep in mind is when biology experiments are run they will have controls. A control does nothing, so they can act as a standard to compare the medicine effectiveness. They will give some subjects placebos to better characterize the value of the medicine. Mind over matter can often work as well so nobody knows who is the control and who got the vaccine.

My guess is since a world wide vaccination is new and unprecedented, they did this by the book, as a science study. Some people who thought they got the vaccine were randomly given placebos, to get a better handle of the vaccine effectiveness. Some of these placebo patients may still get the virus, while others will beat it based on positive thinking. This may be why everything was scheduled.

An earier survey by scientists in England concluded that although the new variant was more contagious, the morality rate was 1/19 as bad. Evolution is offering a way out of the predicament, but it requires faith in science and not faith in fear.

reports from India have been that the delta strain is twice as deadly and 2-4 times as contagious, the reason there are less deaths is the elderly are the most highly vaccinated group, and the young people the least vaccinated group, hence the epicentre of the delta infection.
