I wonder who thinks baning the word "nuke" is ok? I assume it is because some people are uncomfortable about the atomic bombs dropped 79 years ago. I'm not sure how many survivors would be offended by it being used in programming circles. (like the Nuke plugin for Unreal engine)

The last part is true, but making fun isn't playful banter. It's bullying and harassment. It's more likely criticizing the thing about execute and using a dictionary is more likely to bring about reasonableness than harassing them.
No one is talking about bullying and harassing people, unless you think pranking people is bullying and harassment. If so, I'll remember that you hate fun.

Yes you are.

It is and absolutely can be.
They should get trolled.
And it's exactly what you are talking about (trolling = bullying).

Don't be purposely dense.

"Cyberbullying is a virtual form of real-life bullying, and trolling is a kind of online harassment. Therefore, bullying and trolling are not totally different concepts."

You are when you said they should get trolled, which you specified as made fun of. Making fun of people is harassment and bullying. Trolling is considered harassment and bullying.
I don't hate fun, I hate bullies.

Yup. Figures that's your best response.
Because I'm ****ing tired af and I don't feel like wasting my time responding to a ridiculous post making assumptions I know aren't true. Trolling = doing things to get a rise out of people, for fun. It can mean pranking people or being irreverent and disrupting online convos. I came of age on the 2000s Internet, on message boards and chat rooms. 99% of it was for laughs, shock value or just to annoy people in funny ways. That's what I think of when it comes to trolling. Cyber bullying is something else to me. So you and SW are just reading things into what I said, which I never meant. Now please go ahead and **** on me some more. Have fun.

Wanting to get a rise out of someone and disrupting conversations is being a jerk and is a common part of bullying. Even LaVey says not to bother people in public spaces. We aren't talking about Klansmen or others who actually do harm and promote hate, we're talking about a company with rules and policies. Don't like them? Play something else.
Markets amd companies don't exist to make you happy. They exist to make their customers/target demographs happy. You, like me, are not a part of the intended audience so we can properly bugger off where it's not our concern. And it certainly isn't anything that deserves harassment. Their silly rules. But what harm do they do? That stuff is better aimed at executices who's toxic dumping has is harmful and often lethal.
But silly rules you don't agree with? Just change the damn channel.

I hate Anton LaVey, and I don't see why you mentioned him. This is just an irrelevant and confusing rant. It doesn't seem like anyone is interested in actually reading my posts and communicating with me, so I guess I'll just go away. One does get tired of being screeched at.

These silly rules are the beginning of censorship. They aren't dangerous enough to demand boycotts or go out and protest in the streets. It's just enough to make fun of them on RF, point out how silly the rules are. When you are being stupid, a sarcastic remark is the least you should be prepared for. And maybe they take the hint.

It's a private corporation making it's own decisions about policy. Amd certainly there are far worse policies that exist, such as non competitive agreements. Those do harm and unreasonably chain people to an employer. But language policies? I'd hardly call that censorship worth getting concerned about. Seems it's a corporation making a gesture to appeal to an emerging demograph that does care about stuff like that (ironically, last I heard it's mostly well off white people). If that's what they wanna do then they'll do it. I'll save my scorn for companies who expect employees to pay for thefts out of their paycheck.

So do I. They don't deserve "scorn", they deserve ridicule. Low effort, low impact, one shot sarcasm - which is not harassment.
(That's the main point here. It's no longer about the silly rules, it's about the question if I'm allowed to make fun of them.)

As I pointed out, making fun of them is likely to just make them double down. In the long run if it works for them and they keep it oh well. I'm more concerned about corporations who actively discourage unionization with illegal lies and intimidation and have supervisors going around telling us not to ask for more money or we'll just have to work even longer and harder (this place paid WAY less than the other two nearby distribution centers, far less than norms or averages for that line of work).
