Did you just completely ignore the whole "eyewitness testimony isn't reliable" thing? Here, you can read up about it here.

And I find it pretty funny that none of the links you provided link to his actual testimony... presumably so that one has to buy the movie to see it. You'd think something adding to the reliability of intelligent aliens visiting us would be something freely available.

This is a PDF format of what the former Governor of Arizona claims that he saw and how he handled the UFO cases when he was in office.

I don't quite understand what you meant about "ignoring the whole eyewitness testimony isn't reliable thing". I went to the link you provided. I do know what a witness is. I'm aware of the definition. Witnesses are used in the court systems too. And I have provided you earlier with a list of witnesses from various occupations of the government and military that are ready to testify before the US Congress.

The Associated Press/Scott Troyanos --- Arizona Gov. Fife Symington pulls a mask off of aide Jay Heiler, dressed up as an alien, during a late afternoon news conference at the state capitol in downtown Phoenix Thursday June 19, 1997. Symington, earlier in the day, said he would order the Arizona Department of Public Safety to look into the mysterious lights seen over Phoenix, but later insisted he was joking.

Ten years after the "Phoenix Lights" UFO incident, former Arizona Gov. Fife Symington, III, now says he saw an unidentified object that night, even though he originally did not say so publicly.

"It was enormous and inexplicable," he said in an exclusive interview from Phoenix. "Who knows where it came from? A lot of people saw it, and I saw it too."

On March 13, 1997, during Symington's second term as governor, thousands saw a vast triangular and V-shaped object, gliding slowly and silently across the Arizona sky. Witnesses throughout the state estimated that the eerie, lighted objects were bigger than many football fields, as much as a mile long.

Sen. John McCain, a friend of Symington's whom the former Republican governor describes as "open-minded," acknowledged the Arizona lights at a 2000 press conference.

"That has never been fully explained. But I have to tell you that I do not have any evidence whatsoever of aliens or UFOs," he said.

The evidence for a possible UFO, which simply means something in the sky that no one can identify, lies in the fact that countless witnesses reported seeing low, gigantic, technological flying machines that blocked out the stars - not merely lights.

Symington says he saw a large triangular "craft of unknown origin" with lights. "It was dramatic. And it couldn't have been flares because it was too symmetrical," he says. "It had a geometric outline, a constant shape."

People sometimes confuse the sightings of the objects at around 8:30 that evening with the row of lights videotaped at 10 p.m. and shown repeatedly on television news. These later lights most likely were flares, according to video analysts. People who saw the earlier objects were outside watching the Hale-Bopp Comet, and saw something entirely different.

Symington's latest statement marks a turnaround. He is famous for spoofing the incident at a 1997 news conference, where he introduced a handcuffed member of his staff in an alien costume as the culprit responsible for the Phoenix Lights. Symington now wants to set the record straight.

He explains that Arizona was "on the brink of hysteria" about the UFO sighting at the time, and the frenzy was building.

"I wanted people to lighten up and calm down, so I introduced a little levity. But I never felt that the overall situation was a matter of ridicule," he says.

The former governor says the incident remains unsolved, and deserves an official investigation. The U.S. government has never acknowledged that something was in the sky that night.

Former Phoenix city councilwoman Frances Barwood, now living in the Prescott area, was the only elected official to launch a public investigation in 1997, but she said people stonewalled her at every turn. Barwood spoke with more than 700 witnesses. "The government never interviewed even one," she says.

Symington called the commander at Luke Air Force Base, the general in charge of the National Guard, and the head of the Department of Public Safety to request an explanation. None of them had answers, and they, too, were "perplexed," he says.

In 2000, the U.S. Department of Defense maintained that it could not find any information about the triangular object, in response to a search ordered by a U.S. District court in Phoenix on behalf of witnesses.

Bolstering Symington's announcement is independent documentation of similar unidentified flying triangles in the early 1990s by the Belgian Air Force and the British Ministry of Defense. Both called the objects genuine unknowns, and not U.S. aircraft.

Were there UFOs over PM's house?

New Delhi: Were there some unidentified flying objects over Delhi last Wednesday or was it a security lapse near the Prime Minister's residence?

On March 7, 2007, air traffic control radars in Delhi picked up two unidentified flying objects over Delhi moving northwest to south between 0930 hours and 1000 hours (IST).

While the ATC was alarmed by the sightings, the Air Force did not scramble its jets to intercept the flying objects as per the security protocol even though the breach of air space happened at a time when air traffic was at its peak. Security experts say the objects might have involved a serious threat to civilian air traffic.

And eight days later, no one really knows if they were birds or planes or kites. ATC officials say the objects were too slow moving to be aircraft. The Air Force says they could have been migratory birds. A radar malfunction has also been not ruled out.

But the incident has raised serious security concerns as the two unidentified flying objects were detected very close to the Prime Minister's residence.

Sources told CNN-IBN that both the objects were flying seven miles apart. They flew over Safdarjung before heading east and vanishing off the radar. Both the ATC and the Air Force tried to establish radio contact, but failed.

The UFOs flew just above the Safdarjung Airport. But what has raised serious concern in the security establishment is the fact that the Prime Minister's house is just 2 km from the spot and so are the other high-security areas.

The Air Force says it was informed about the radar trace only when the objects were within 5 nautical miles of Safdarjung. They vanished from the radar 3 minutes after crossing Safdarjung.

The Civil Aviation Ministry says there are no reports of unidentified flying objects over Delhi. The Air Force has already conducted an enquiry into this incident, but it had no clear answers to any of the questions.

Absolutely agree. (Unfortunately, I just frubaled you for something else.) It's amusing to me (in an alarming way) how the phrase "Buddhist monk" and especially "Tibetan monk" is used in the West to give creedence to what otherwise would automatically be seen as "new-age" tripe if the same claims were made by someone in New Mexico. We give spiritual authority to a romanticized stereotype of some supernaturally inclined, all knowing, "mystical" seer. It does a disservice to real monks.

Indeed. Most Christian monks spend their time in Prayer, Charity work and Quiet meditation. Christ is the center of the Christian monk's life, leave the ET spotting to SETI ;).

How is divine intervention considered extra terrestrial?

Do people consider angels to be extra terrestrials?

I don't know the answer to the first question.

I know many people, including myself, who consider some angels to be extra-terrestrials.

I don't really see the jump from divine to extraterrestrial to be all that big of a leap. Supernatural is defined as "beyond nature," and we have always associated nature with our planet. The stars above were the heavens; the place of gods and spirits. If a superintelligent species were to come down to earth from another planet, they would certainly be seen as divine beings.

Things that were once considered divine in the past - fire from the sky, long distance communication, turning lead into gold, immaculate conception, etc. - are all possible today through technology. An extraterrestrial race descending from the sky in "chariots of fire" may not seem all that divine to our scientific minds, but it would certainly be a miraculous event.

I've read many an online site, watched UFO programs every time they come on TV (when I used to regularly watch TV, anyway), but I haven't felt inclined to spend my money on books on the subject.

Libraries often have a great selection of paranormal literature. Reading into it suggests that there is something behind this stuff. There may not be enough evidence to warrant calling it a scientific fact, but there is certainly enough to be suspicious about.

Well I will say that the article was posted from an Indian news site. The Indians and other Eastern cultures, as Hema has remarked before, do not have the cultural stigma against ETs as Westerners do. Because some of the Hindu texts speak of what could be considered as extraterrestrials or aliens, the people are less hindered to believe the aliens to be a scientific fact.
No. Hindu beliefs say that the endless and repeated cycles of life has led to mutliple words and contacts... but you have to look at that with a mind to the geography and science of the time. Different places on Earth were considered "different worlds." Context, context, context...

Angels are a completely different form than terrestrials and extra terrestrials. They are not three dimensional material beings although some can visit this dimension. Angels are created with certain abilities to perform specific tasks for the universe.

While the angels do have free will they almost always abide by their purpose and perform their intended function. The only exception to this that I know of is the angels involved in the Lucifer rebellion.

Terrestrials and extra terrestrials can be put into two categories, those in service to self and those in service to others. That is the great drama in the universe, the great battle between good and evil, and between light and dark.

... When asked about recent UFO sightings in India and China, the monks smiled and said the divine powers are watching us all. Mankind cannot and will not be allowed to alter the future to that great extent. ...
According to the remote viewers, our earth is blessed and is being saved continuously from all kinds of hazards all the time that we are not even aware of. As our technologies progress we will realize how external forces saved us.
In an odd way, this has a familiar theme common to most religions: anthropocentrism (human-centered POV). We are so important that, out of all the uncounted planets in the universe, we are blessed and protected by advanced aliens. Yay us! Did anybody find out why advanced aliens would give a hoot what happens to primitives like us? Not that there isn't a certain attraction to being so important...

Well some believe that "aliens" created humans to begin with. And accounts from Babylonian tablets show that the people believed they were created by "gods from the sky". And their iconography shows winged gods. This was reiterated in Egyptian and Greek mythologies as well as other beliefs around the world from Africa to Asia to South America.

Why would "aliens" care about humans? ....Well according to some, they created us.

If some of us already know we are headed down a path that will require intervention in 2012, wouldn't some of these smart aliens also know it and be able to prevent it? Or are they aiming for a splashy, dramatic entrance by saving us at the last minute? That would be more convincing that the current pattern of appearing mostly to bean farmers when nobody is around.

Protected by advanced aliens? Not quite. The universe is a free will place. Beings do what they wish. Only their own conscience truly controls them and many dismiss it so much that it simply disappears. We are protected by nothing.

What's so important about us? Well there are beings that exist who aren't based on God's greatest invention, DNA. And because they aren't based upon this they cannot host a soul. They know they cannot reach heaven. When they die, they simply end, like pulling the plug on a computer.

These beings are incredibly intelligent and know everything about the third dimensional physical laws but they are lacking in imagination and emotion, they are boringly logical.

They didn't work for the information they received so they have little respect for those they consider lesser lifeforms like humans because we are so easily controlled by emotion and addictions. They see us as we see cattle.

These beings are trying to incorporate just enough of us (DNA) into their form to attract a soul. They come here because they know we can't do anything to stop them whereas others are about as powerful as they are and put up a fight. But their time is running out quickly.

What is going to happen soon (Only God knows for sure but probably around 2012) is a great change. The earth is going to move into the 4th dimension and nothing will prevent it.

The intervention isn't coming from aliens because aliens are 3rd dimensional beings. The intervention is coming from ascended spirits, 5th dimensional beings, who've come to the earth to increase the level of light and try to bring as many humans as possible into the 4th dimension along with the earth.

But it's not looking good. Too many humans have chosen to keep their minds closed tight. They are unaccepting of the rest of the universe attempts to open their eyes. They're only concerned with SUV's and big screen HDTV's. They're selfish.

Some Lightworkers feel that divine intervention is going to somehow save all the humans. Honestly I don't know, I kind of doubt it because that's not how God works. He doesn't perform miracles to save your day. He lets you choose and learn.

The "bad" aliens are going to do whatever they can to interfere but legend says they will be defeated. Exactly how is unrevealed but we (humans) are going to do it somehow.
