European Union: the lounge-loving and elitist Left has been defeated

As a socialist, I find right-wing populism and right-wing nationalism more aligned with my vision of Europe...and in Europe many voters have clearly stated that they repel that fake, phony "left-wing" that loves lounges and yachts among bankers and freemasons, and couldn't care less about the people's needs.

In France...the French have understood that Macron belongs to the élites. At last.
In Germany...the right-wing wins, also considering that that AfD is the second party.
In all the other EU countries the nationalism and right-wing populism win...prevail over the lounge-loving and carefree Left.

I am really sorry for them...but I guess that they probably should quit politics...because they will have to bow to the Right-Wing's whims...otherwise the EU collapses under the weight of farmers' protests, anti-war protests and revolts.

I mean...there are the Caribbeans as alternative...they are Heaven. I mean...Tax Havens. ;)

I had told leftists here that pushing for the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict instead of pushing for a treaty of peace would unleash right-wing populism and right-wing nationalism in all of Europe.
I believe these leftist élites committed a political suicide. They undid themselves just to obey the elitist cabal of warmongers...overseas.

In the UK the popularists are the elite.
Rees Mogg, Farage, Banks, Tice, Sunak, Johnson, etc., etc.,

This does not make sense. Socialism is a left-wing ideology. It does not at all align with right-wing nationalism.

Also, the fact that the far right is gaining popularity around the world is extremely concerning. At least when one country goes deep into it, other countries can act as a safeguard against it like in WWII. When it becomes a threat worldwide, it becomes pretty dire.

Yes, I was reading that the right-wing made some gains in the EU elections. It appears that the Green Party lost some seats.

One problem with nationalism is that it causes people to focus on their own nations, even if it diminishes cooperation with other nations (or worse). In Europe, each nation is different, with its own language, culture, and political issues which may affect them but not other countries. I remember some people used to call it "The United States of Europe," but it wasn't at all like the United States of America. They might be unified enough to form a defense alliance like NATO, but that may be as far as it can go.

I don't really consider the limousine liberals to be "left wing," but it seems that some people do. I guess it just depends on what measure one uses.

Socialists used to believe in a more internationalist ideal, such as "workers of the world - unite!" After WW2, capitalists adopted a competing internationalist (aka "globalist") ideal where it was "bankers and corporations of the world - unite!" The Cold War was a global competition between those two ideals, and around the late 80s/early 90s, it appeared the capitalists had won. So, what we're seeing is the result of decades of world-wide capitalist rule. Due to that philosophy, an overall push to the right, including increased nationalism, is not entirely unexpected - not just in Europe, but all over the world.

Hardly. Considering that Mussolini was a socialist himself.

If there had been a pro-people Left, none of this would have happened.

No. He was a socialist in his younger years. Then he became a fascist. Socialism is left wing.

"The left" is "pro-people". Right-wing nationalism and populism isn't "pro-people". It purports to be in order to gain power, but it's all about power, not helping the population.

Nationalism brings nations together.
Now European nations love each other because they understood that their common deadly enemy is the financial and banking élites.
Some commentator in my country said: this is vote of pure hatred. Against the banking and financial élites who push for WW3.

You are not Europe and neither am I. The difference seems to be that only one of us knows that. ;)

They could probably accomplish the same thing without nationalism. Nationalism can be dangerous.
