I watch a lot of thriller movies, murder mysteries, crime shows etc. I also like to read thrillers and that kind of thing. I sometimes make jokes about murder weapons and people get all weirded out.

Are there things you do or say that wierd people out regularly lol

Well, when I was in middle school, it was my obsession with horror films.

Now it's my obsession with useless information, my introvertness (is that a real word?) and just saying odd blurbs at random times.

I guess that depends on how you wake them up. Does it involve extreme theatrics or extensive props? If so chances are you are a little weird (but rather humorous parent).

No. I haven't tried anything very creative yet. That's a good idea, though. I'm getting a bit frustrated with getting my son to get up on time. Being nice and gentle isn't working very well.

My husband has done it a few time before, banging on a kitchen pot with a kitchen spoon and acting really goofy. They thought it was funny. Maybe I should try humor.

I know some really disturbing jokes, and every now and then when I've had a couple of drinks, in the right atmosphere around people I assume will be cool with them, I'll throw out a few mild ones.

Eventually, the really dark and disturbing humor arrives, and at some point, people start laughing nervously.

Also, when people discover I know a bit of self-defense and martial arts with some weapons training, I'll get a mixed bag of responses. Some folks are very supportive. Others think I'm a trained killer and get really weirded out.

The right music, breakfast & its mechanical preparation will inspire the little tyke to get up ready to take on the world.....

Sometimes I just sort of know things that are about to happen, or know what someone is thinking. I think it's just a natural connection and with things and people and not something weird or spooky.

My husband is cool with it, and is not freaked out by it -- but a long time ago I had a boyfriend that was really weirded out by it. This guy seriously sat in front of me and kept demanding that I make a specific car materialize, because he kept saying that he was sure I had some strange powers and he thought he should benefit from it. :D

And you consider yourself the person who is a "little weird" in that story?

I like to be the last one to get on a crowded elevator. When the door closes I like to turn around and stare at everyone with a slightly enigmatic smile. Is that weird?

Dude!...be more careful.
Confined spaces and strange behavior are a bad mix!

Hmmm...last time I got inventive on the morning wake up, I was struggling to get my five year old up. So I told her 'I know how to get you up...' and went to the cupboard, got a spoon and a jar of jam.

Then i dabbed a little on her cheek.

'Nup...I'm still not getting up, daddy...that didn't work...'

'Ahhh. Well...that wasn't supposed to get you up...THIS was...'

At which time I let the fox terrier into the room.
He nearly licked her face off. Suffice to say, she got up quick.

Yes. And I can't stop laughing now.

Same here! :biglaugh:

If I was in the elevator with you, I'd probably say something like, "Hi, I'm Chucky! Wanna play?" while you were turning around with that smile. Either that or yell, "HEEEERRRREEEE'SS JOHNNY!!!" A moment like that is WAY too inviting.

Holding my keys as a weapon, though, just in case. :D

People are often taken aback by my propensity to unapologetically say what I mean and tell things like they are. Any time you go against the common social grain, people can get "weirded" out.

So a turkey sandwich is just a turkey sandwich, then.

That's not weird. That actually sounds tasty.
