Evil Scientist At It Again - Unethical Treatment of Clones.

Clones are people too!

Now that scientist have discovered a method in which they can create clones from adult cells, I heard that they wish to use this medical technology to grow clones and harvest their organs.

This is just plain wrong. I don't care what you think but if a human life is grown in a petri dish then it is still a human life and deserves protection from such things. Taking someones organs without their consent is a crime and if doing so causes death then it is murder.

What is next? Will scientists create a full grown clone of someone and then transplant their brain into the clone in order to give that person a second youth?

Such a thing is appalling to say the least.

What if I told you that, quite possibly, there should be a "black market specialized in human organs" and that such black market makes use of human clones? To be honest, we'll never know what happens in the world while we are in the comfort of our homes.

Do you have a source? Because it doesn't really sound legit. The technology to clone has been around for a while, so are you referring to growing organs in labs or entire fully functioning humans and killing them for organs? There is a difference between a clone and a living slab of meat.

OK, they're cloning human cells and tissue, they're not growing clones and harvesting organs. The technique used to grow the tissue could be used to clone a complete human being, but they aren't doing that.

I don't think we shouldn't pursue the research because it could be used unethically, even if someone does use it unethically. There are so many great human advances that can and have been used unethically, and as unfortunate as that is, we shouldn't let a handful of unethical people hold the world hostage by preventing advancement.

Considering the abuses of non-human animals for the purposes of research - all without their consent - I have a harder time having sympathy for this possibility. It is no better or worse than what we already do to our relations. :shrug:

What's wrong with cloning cells? No one needs to grow a human in order to harvest an organ; the technology is essentially leading to lab grown organs by using the DNA from the person receiving the the implant.

So they won't need a host to grow an organ like a liver or can it be grown in a dish?
