Cool! The end is a bit worrying though, it looks like we are going to turn back into monkeys! ;)
Apes, not monkeys! Never were monkeys.
Of course the whole thing must be some sort of optical illusion, as everyone knows you can't go from a chimp to a human through a series of minute changes over time...

It's an enduring key problem, if we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys.
I'm not sure if this post was meant as a joke but I answer as if it was serious. "This is a question often posed by creationists. It betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of evolutionary theory. To make matters worse, in this particular case, the entire premise of the question is false." ... "Humans did not evolve from monkeys; humans and monkeys both evolved from an extinct common ancestor." http://friendsofdarwin.com/misc/faq/why-still-monkeys/

There's an easy answer.....
Different species fill different environmental niches.
Monkeys live in one which doesn't suit us.
They run around naked, swinging in trees, eating uncooked plants, having sex all the time, & crapping wherever they please.
We post on internet forums, drive cars, fill out lengthy tax forms, ferment adult beverages, buy extended warranties, & wear shoes.

Note however that we're expanding our niche, which is diminishing theirs.
So some day, the question about why there are still monkeys could be moot.

I think I'll borrow that distinction next time somebody says humans are just monkeys!

Hey, it's just science!

It's still a good question though, do you think acquiring our intelligence would disadvantage monkeys? in any niche? today or at any point in history? yet according to the theory, that's exactly why our intelligence naturally 'evolved'; as an evolutionary advantage over other monkeys.
