Evolution, violence and the existence of God

Says you. I've read the bible-- it describes hell as endless torment.
That's a pretty good definition of infinite evil.

What verse do you have in mind.
I find it interesting that you used the word torment, instead of the word torture.
Wouldn't endless burning be more like: torture.
In Scripture (Bible speak) a 'tormentor' was simply a 'jailer' according to Matthew 18:34; Matthew 18:30; Acts of the Apostles 16:23,30,36.

Also, I find that originally the Bible was Not written in English.
KJV Bibles translated the word Gehenna into English as hellfire.
Gehenna was simple a garbage pit near Jerusalem where things were destroyed forever, Not kept burning forever.
So, Gehenna is a fitting word for: destruction, as in the wicked will be destroyed forever according to Psalms 92:7.
Kind of like if you throw something into a fireplace. What is burned up is gone forever. Can't torment ashes.
The upright people will remain according to Proverbs 2:21-22, thus then the humble meek people ( Not the wicked ) will inherit the Earth as Jesus' promised. God will bring those ruining earth to their ruin - Revelation 11:18 B.
Even sinner Satan ( who was never in biblical hell ) will be destroyed by Jesus according to Hebrews 2:14 B.

You're probably thinking of Matthew 25:45 which says
"And these shall go into everlasting torment; but the just men shall go into everlasting life."
Thing is, "torment" here doesn't really mean torment as we commonly use it, .................................
.

We can be tormented by a person, but that does Not necessarily mean tortured by a person.
In Bible speak, or scripturally speaking, a tormentor was a jailer according to Matthew 18:34,30; Acts 16:23,27,36.
The 'everlasting torment' in Scripture is equal to 'everlasting destruction' according to 2 Thessalonians 1:9.
As in the wicked will be destroyed forever according to Psalms 92:7.
Destroyed by the 'executional words' from Jesus' mouth according to Isaiah 11:3-4; Revelation 19:14-16.

So you do not believe your own bible? Interesting.

I find you something of a hypocrite, here-- you expect ME to blindly follow your own book, but YOU get to re-define anything you do not particularly like.

hmmmm....

Wherever we humans have evolved from, we all have one thing in common, it is the same in plants, bacteria, Amoebae, insects, birds, fish and humans have & that is DNA.

The origin of DNA is the origin of life.
