It is mostly atheists but secular. They won't care about your religious belief now. They will have resources and advice for anyone suffering from leaving Islam in a Muslim culture.

It is extreamly sad from what i am reading.The question really is did you not know the laws of your country before apostatizing?Well let this be a lesson for others.Always be on the right side of your country's laws.Askersha my advise to you is emigrate.

I think it's an issue of denial on your part, as you find it hard to except that people can find fault with your faith. I can't answer for him, but it can be said that Islamic fundamentalism opposes freedom, rights, equality, science, social justice, and rational inquiry and thus is against humanity.

Demanding that others surrender their freedom of speech if it happens to offend Muslim sensibilities. Punishing rape victims for "adultery". Yes. I am an ex-Muslim. I am a well educated disabled person, working as a public sector college lecturer. I researched comparative religion for over six years and found that Islam is a false religion with lots of absurdities. So...
1. I converted to Christianity
2. Since I am living in a Muslim country with my wife and a son, I faced immediate reaction.
3. I was tortured by people in groups.
4. The law reinforcement agencies did not help me because there is a law here that people leasving Islam should be killed.
5. I was deprived of my property.
6. I got trapped in depression, bipolar disorder, deja vu and seizures.
7. I am not financially strong enough to get my treatment done.
8. But! I am still a Christian and love Jesus above everything.
9. I want to move to a safer place where I can live with my family without the fear of assailants.

Even if you think my story is false, am I asking anyone for any help/favor?

Even if you don't believe me, I can at least prove why Islam is a false and brutal religion. Following are some key reasons:

1. Quran says that if it were not the word of God, it would have had contradictions. The biggest contradiction that not even the most clever Muslim mathematician has still been able to justify is that at one place, the Quran says Allah created the heavens and earth in 6 days. At another place, it presents the creation of heavens and earth and the sum of days comes to be exactly 8.

2. Read chapter 9, Surah Tauba. It is full of hatred and commandments to kill non-Muslims (please don't say it is in the context of war. It is not written anywhere in Quran. So it would be a false apology). But in Surah Kafiroon, Quran instructs Muslims to AVOID DEBATE AGAINST NON-MUSLIMS AND SAY 'FOR YOU IS YOUR RELIGION, FOR ME IS MINE'.

With these and more contradictions, it is enough to declare Quran as NOT a word of God. It also gives an example of brutal teachings of Quran. Still, there are many more reasons, which I will keep posting as I get time. A good source of learning more about the absurdities of Quran is wikiislam and faithfreedom.org. I'll be back after a while. Maybe tomorrow.

If your situation is as you state, I feel bad for you and if you look at the History of Islam non-muslims were never treated like that when Islamic Caliphate was in place. However, some(not all) of things you have listed is not completely unbelievable that some places in the Muslim world these things could happen.

However, those two highly anti-Islamic sites (containing fabricated/false information propagated by the Christian missionaries) that you have recommended casts some doubt on your story.

No religion provides more rights to a woman than Islam. There are no Muslim homosexual people in our country, they may be there in Europe and i don't think they imprison someone for this act. In Islamic history, no one is ever punished for adultery, a woman was punished in the era of Holy prophet peace be upon him, and that was only by confession, she came and reported her sin again and again and then finally she was punished. regarding "violence toward religions other than their own" do you know Muslims ruled Arabia for 1400 years and 14 million Arabs are Coptic Christians? why not Muslims forced them to become Muslim?

and yes, do you know Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. The Muslims in Spain never used the sword to force the people to convert. Later the Christian Crusaders came to Spain and wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim in Spain who could openly give the adhan, that is the call for prayers.

1. Islam gives full freedom to a husband to beat his wife physically (Bukhari and Muslim, ref: Surah Baqarah and Nisa of Quran). Others are NOT allowed to save her even if they witness this torture (Bukhari, Mishkat)
2. Muhammad banned the entry of homosexuals in males' gatherings. (Bukhari, Mishkat)
3. Muhammad and his followers fought many battles to force non-Muslims to accept Islam. Quran teaches violence against non-Muslims in chapter 9. It orders Muslims to slash non-Muslims' heads off their bodies with swords wherever they see them. One Hadith refers to a non-Muslim converting to Islam when a follower of Muhammad said, 'he is accepting Islam for fear of death.' (Muslim, Mishkat)

Dear Father Heathen. You are absolutely right. Please tell this ignorant brother that the following references are enough for him to understand that he is actually only guarding Islam without knowledge. Following are a few main things:
1. Chapter 9 of Quran orders brutal assassination of non-Muslims
2. Chapter 2 and Surah Nisa of Quran clearly say that women have half right than men in property. Husbands are allowed to beat up their wives. Men can marry more than one women. Hadith confirms that husbands can beat women to any intensity and no one can interfere!
3. There are lots of contradictions in Quran and Hadith.

There are lots of things about your country's law that you don't know before you commit something against it. But if your country's law is against known norms, it's the law that needs to change. What is the point in capital punishment only if someone finds fishy things in Islam and embraces Christianity after careful scrutiny?
