Am i sensible? Yes i am
Reason? Had to fight all my life to survive. Being looked down at because i hold a belief. You already know about the 12 years i was bullied as a child....i could go on but i think you understand :) life has given me a challenge

I just wish you the best man, even though I think you still you have some demons to face.
Like I said before: "Good luck!"

Then one of three things needs to happen.

1. He needs to leave the debates.
2. He needs to change his opinions.
3. Or He needs to grow thicker skin.

The world needs more Baha'is, so 2 is not optimal. 3 would work for all of us but if that isn't possible he'll have to resort back to 1 again.
Having debated theists since 1996 I have seen a subset use online forums as a way to test their own faith, and faith in God. It is a gamble, and I've seen many theists get hurt. The hurt is self-caused, but uses the criticisms of others as the means. It's like suicide by cop. Some learn, some don't. In one sense I think it is the self understanding that beliefs are not working, and being oen to allowing criticism is the "truth" being shattered. the deilemma is ego rising to the surface and putting up the wall, and the religious faith ends up being reinforced like a bad habit.

Egos seem to take over very quickly in online debates, at which point both sides become increasingly entrenched, and very little real communication can occur. Surprised it took you 26 years to work that one out tbh.

I never claimed it took me 26 years. Why would you assume that conclusion? I only said I have been debating since 1996. I made the observation quite quickly.

Having quickly made that observation, you stubbornly continued bashing egos for 2.5 decades? Why? What have you learned, in those 26 years?

I’m genuinely interested btw. What do you get out of these debates? What needs are you satisfying in yourself?
