Faith closes the mind. It is pure idol worship.

If we are to worship nothing, then what is the commandment "Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, will all your mind, with all your strength (might) mean? Isn't that worship? I always thought it was.

What do you want from your family? Love or worship?

Love serves family better does it not?

Love, like faith, requires works and deeds. One cannot do deeds for an absentee God and he certainly cannot reciprocate so it is in fact impossible to love an absentee God.

Jesus said to seek God. He did not advise finding one as that is idol worship.

That is why Gnostic Christians like me are perpetual seekers.

Always interesting to hear you share these Gnostic perspectives, Greatest I am. If I were a theist I'd probably gravitate towards some variety of gnosticism. I can't see any reason to worship anything unless worship is defined as honoring like the Pagans of old did, with their deeds.

Thanks.

As Jesus said and which is quite true, you will know us by our works and deeds.

He was talking of the Christians but that saying applies to any belief system.

What peeves me is that if Gnostic Christianity had not lost the war to Christianity, we would not have had the Dark Ages or inquisition.

Good old Constantine sure screwed up the West. It continues.

No one said to worship anything.

As a Gnostic Christian, it is my belief that nothing should be worshiped. Doing so makes us idol worshipers like you have become.

What does it even mean that I've become an idol worshiper and what idol do you suppose I worship?
You did tell me to adhere to the customs of the Dictionary; to me, this approaches the concept of worship- if anything, I would prefer to be approached on an individual level, which regards my potential as a human being to conceptualize words in my own right and make my own definitions.

In this sense you've ultimately made the claim that Faith Closes the Mind, and that it is Pure Idol Worship.

Here's a statement that you wrote:
Works and deeds are as named and those are not faith in any sense of the normal definition. Bahá’u'lláh can redefine terms all he likes but I am speaking English here and if you wish to chat then use English and not whatever definition or terms fit your particular delusion.

Well written if I do say so myself.

Are you now saying that you do not recognize a God?

If not then name your idol.
